Mark Hambourg

Mark Hambourg, born in 1879, in Boguchar, Voronezh Governorate, Russian Empire, was a British pianist. He began his musical education under his father Michael Hambourg, who studied with Anton Rubinstein. In 1889, the family moved to London. Mark made his debut at Princes Hall in 1890 and later studied with Theodor Leschetitzky in Vienna from 1891 to 1895. He began his international touring career at 16, beginning in Sydney, Australia. Hambourg died on August 26, 1960.
