Alen Vitasović, born 5 July 1968 in Pula, Croatia, is a pop singer whose exposure to music began with the accordion at age five and with starting his first band at the age of twelve. In 1993, Alen Vitasović launched his solo career with the song "Ne moren bež nje," leading to successful collaborations with songwriter Livio Morosin and other Croatian composers. He became one of Croatia’s most popular performers and formed the band Superfree, which toured across Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the USA, Germany, and Switzerland. Vitasović won numerous Croatian music festivals, including Melodies of the Croatian Adriatic, Arenafest, and Korčula Festival. In 1995, he received the Porin Award for best debutant. Known for promoting the Istrian Čakavian dialect through his music, he also represented Croatia six times at the Dora Eurovision selection festival. Vitasović received the Order of the Croatian Day Star in 1997 for contributions to Croatian music and culture.
