Neue Deutsche Kindermusik: Zeitgemäß und kindgerecht
Simon Horn was born on May 4, 1984 in Lippstadt. He is a German children's musician who has made a name for himself as one of the defining figures of contemporary family and children's songs. From around 2011, Simon Horn increasingly recorded music for children and adopted the pseudonym herrH for his project, under which he has since performed as a solo artist. His style combines elements of rock, pop, hip-hop and dance to create what he himself calls "new German children's music". The lyrics are humorous, cheerful and often child-friendly and appeal to both young children and parents. His debut album herrH ist da! is released by Sony Music in 2013. The album includes the singles "Ich bin ein Pinguin" and "Emma, die Ente, die ewig verpennte" and marks the beginning of his commercial success as a children's musician. In the following years, herrH released the studio albums Endlich Winter! (2014), Mach mal lauter (2015) and Poesiealbum (2017). In 2019, the album Wenn ich groß bin followed on Universal Music, further expanding his reach. These albums and their singles become permanent fixtures in many children's rooms; some songs achieve high streaming figures and a strong presence on German children's television. herrH plays his music live, often as an interactive participatory concert for families. He performs up to 200 times a year, in halls, at festivals and in TV productions such as the KiKA formats TanzAlarm and SingAlarm. His concerts combine classic children's songs with an energetic show character and are a special experience for many families. In November 2025, the EP Es gibt Nudeln is released with four new tracks that once again showcase the mixture of fun, rhythm and child-friendly lyrics. Another EP, Wir machen Party, follows in January 2026.
