Hans-Christoph Becker-Foss, born in 1949 in Höxter, Germany, is an organist, choirmaster, and professor of organ playing. He studied church music at the Bremen University of the Arts under instructors such as Hans Heintze and Erich Ehlers. His career began with leading the Hastedt Choir in Bremen from 1973 to 1979, followed by a position as church musician at the St. Nicolai Church in Hameln. In 1989, he co-founded the Weserbergland Music Weeks and has served as its artistic director. Becker-Foss has also taught at the Hannover University of Music, Drama and Media, where he was appointed professor in 1993. His international concert career included performances as an organist, harpsichordist, and conductor. His recording of "Apparatus musico-organisticus" by Georg Muffat earned him the German Record Critics' Prize in 2001.
