Walter Hauck

Walter Hauck was a concert and opera singer born on March 17, 1910 in Böhl, Germany. He studied music at the Berlin University of the Arts from 1932 to 1936 under Julius von Raatz-Brockmann. His breakthrough came in 1941 with the role of Count Luna in Giuseppe Verdi's Il Trovatore at the Cottbus Municipal Theater. Hauck also performed roles such as the title role of Don Giovanni and Dr. Malatesta in Don Pasquale. He debuted as a radio singer in 1935 and worked as a voice actor starting in 1946, also appearing in films like Wenn die Abendglocken läuten and Pauken und Trompeten. He released his first album, Manöverleben, in 1958 and began teaching singing at the Berlin University of the Arts in 1968. Hauck died in 1991.
