Mara Zampieri, born on January 30, 1951, in Padua, Italy, is an Italian soprano who studied at the Padua Conservatory. After winning the 1974 competitions in Pavia, Parma, and Macerata, she debuted in "Pagliacci" at the Pavia opera house, followed by engagements across Italy. In the 1977/78 season, she appeared at La Scala in "I masnadieri" and later sang "Amelia" in "Un ballo in maschera" under Claudio Abbado, a performance broadcast on television. Her discography includes Verdi's Macbeth (1983) and recordings of Manon Lescaut and La fanciulla del West (1991). She received the Medaglia d’oro della Croce Rossa Italiana, was named Kammersängerin of the Vienna State Opera in 1997, and received the Tullio Serafin International Award in 2025.
