Pink Anderson, born Pinkney Anderson on February 12, 1900 in Laurens, South Carolina, was an American blues singer and guitarist. He began his career in 1914 with Dr. William R. Kerr's Indian Remedy Company. Anderson recorded his first singles, "Papa's About to Get Mad"/"Gonna Tip Out Tonight" and "Every Day in the Week Blues" / "C.C. and O. Blues", with Blind Simmie Dooley in 1928 for Columbia Records. In the 1950s, he toured with Leo "Chief Thundercloud" Kahdot and Arthur "Peg Leg Sam" Jackson. Anderson's album Volume 1: Carolina Blues Man was released in 1961, followed by appearances in the 1963 film The Bluesmen. He continued to perform into the early 1970s. His son, Little Pink Anderson, also became a bluesman. Anderson passed away on October 12, 1974, at the age of 74.
