Wayne Jarrett, born in 1956 in Kingston, Jamaica, is a reggae musician whose early years were shaped by a Rastafarian upbringing in Allman Town and participation in a school choir. His breakthrough came in the early 1970s when he recorded "African Woman" with producer Lloyd Barnes in New York, followed by the Jamaican single "Satta Dread", a dub track later featured on a King Tubby compilation. His discography includes Train to Zion Dub (1981) with Linval Thompson, and the collaborative Mini Showcase with Horace Andy and Naggo Morris released in 2002.
