The Hilltoppers, an American popular music singing group, formed at Western Kentucky State College in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The original trio consisted of Jimmy Sacca, Donald McGuire, and Seymour Spiegelman. They later added pianist Billy Vaughn. In 1952, they recorded "Trying", which became a top 10 hit single after being distributed by Dot Records. Their breakthrough came with the release of "P.S. I Love You" in 1953, which sold over one million copies and earned them a gold disc. The group continued to record additional hits until their eventual break-up. Seymour Spiegelman died in February 1987, followed by Billy Vaughn in September 1991, Jimmy Sacca in March 2015, and Donald McGuire also in September 2018.
