Richard Watkins

Richard Watkins, born in 1962, is a horn player. He secured a position as Principal Horn of the Philharmonia Orchestra in 1985, a role he held until 1996 when he shifted focus to solo work. Watkins released the album Sea Eagle in 2015 and The Romantic Horn in 2019. His collaborations include performances with conductors such as Carlo Maria Giulini and Wolfgang Sawallisch, and chamber partners like Barry Douglas and Peter Donohoe. Watkins appeared at the Royal Festival Hall, the Barbican Centre, and taught master classes at the Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music.
