Hannes Läubin, born in 1958, is a German trumpeter and music educator. He began studying trumpet with his father at the age of nine and was a three-time prize winner in the national Jugend musiziert competition. From 1971 to 1976, he was a member of the German National Youth Orchestra and studied with Robert Bodenröder at the Freiburg University of Music. In 1976, he joined the NDR Symphony Orchestra as third trumpet and became principal trumpet two years later. He later pursued a distinguished academic career, serving as professor at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts from 1992 and at the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts from 1996. Since 1995, he has also performed regularly as a substitute musician with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. As a soloist, he has appeared at festivals including the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, the Quiberon Festival, the Bach Academy Venezuela, and the Oregon Bach Festival. His repertoire spans works from the Baroque period to contemporary compositions. He has participated in numerous recordings with ensembles and artists such as the Gächinger Kantorei, Bach-Collegium Stuttgart, Windsbacher Knabenchor, Simon Preston, Lukas Maria Kuen, and the English Chamber Orchestra.
