British musician Chris Elliott, known professionally as Nom De Strip, emerged in the early 2010s as an electronic music producer and DJ. In February 2012, he released a two-track EP through the independent label DirtyNitrus, featuring the instrumental track "Shake & Bake". In 2013, Elliott attracted the attention of producer Chris Lake, who signed him to Rising Music. That same year, Kylie Minogue released the promotional single "Skirt", which sampled "Shake & Bake"; the song later reached Number 1 on the US Billboard Dance Club Songs chart. Elliott later released singles including "The Night" and "Bad Things" in 2015.
