Jürgen Budday, born in 1948 in Germany, is a German conductor, director of church music, and music teacher. He studied music education, church music, and musicology at the Academy of Music in Stuttgart. He taught music at the Evangelical Seminary Maulbronn. His career included directing the concert series at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Maulbronn Abbey, leading the choir Maulbronner Kantorei, and the Maulbronn Chamber Choir. He received numerous awards, including the Bundesverdienstkreuz am Bande in 1998 and the Bruno Frey Prize from the Baden-Württemberg State Academy of Music. He conducted several notable recordings, such as Solomon (2004) and Charles Gounod: Cäcilienmesse & Gioacchino Rossini: Stabat Mater (1999). His work with Handel oratorios featured distinguished soloists like Emma Kirkby, Michael Chance, and Nancy Argenta. In 2011, he was awarded the honorary title Professor by the Minister-President of Baden-Württemberg.
