Pavel Steidl, born on June 24, 1961 in Rakovnik, Czechoslovakia, is a classical guitarist. He studied with Milan Zelenka and Štěpán Rak in Prague before winning first prize at the 1982 International Guitar Competition of Radio France in Paris. This victory marked the start of his professional career, leading to collaborations with notable artists such as Alexandre Tansman, Antonio Lauro, and Maria Luisa Anido. In 1987, Steidl emigrated to the Netherlands, where he developed a unique style blending authentic interpretations of 19th-century guitar literature with world music elements. He released several albums, including Sonate & Ghiribizzi For Guitar (2001) and Barden-Klänge (2003). Steidl's performances often incorporated unique gestures and overtone singing. He was named Guitar Player of the Year by Italian Guitar Magazine Guitart readers in 2004.
