Pauline Anna Strom was an American electronic music composer and synthesist born on 1 October 1946 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Born blind, she achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized as ambient and drone music performed under the stage name Trans-Millenia Consort. After relocating to the Bay Area in the early 1970s, she began her recording career using synthesizers and a four-track recorder. Her debut studio recording Trans-Millenia Consort (1982) was released through Ether Ship Records. Between 1982 and 1988, she produced seven recordings including three piringan hitam and four cassettes. Her discography includes the studio recordings Plot Zero (1983) and Spectre (1984). Due to financial constraints, Strom became inactive in the music industry during the late 1980s. In 2017, she achieved professional recognition for the compilation Trans-Millenia Music, which was ranked number 2 for archive releases by The Wire. Her recording career includes the posthumous studio recording Angel Tears in Sunlight (2021). Strom died on 13 December 2020.
