Sister Machine Gun is an American industrial rock band that formed in New York City in 1990. The ensemble was founded by Chris Randall and Guilherme Machado and is famous for the track “Burn” featured on the Mortal Kombat (1995) soundtrack and for its evolution through the Chicago industrial scene. Following a move to Chicago, Randall signed the group to Wax Trax! Records and released the debut studio recording Sins of the Flesh (1992). Their discography includes the studio recordings The Torture Technique (1994) and Burn (1995), the latter of which reached number 9 on the CMJ Radio Top 200 chart. After establishing the label Positron! Records, they released the studio recordings Metropolis (1997), which reached number 7 on the CMJ charts, and [R]evolution (1999). The ensemble disbanded in 2007 but resumed activity in 2015 with the studio recording The Future Unformed.
