Michele Pertusi, born on January 12, 1965, in Parma, Italy, is an Italian opera singer known for his bass voice. He studied at the Conservatorio Arrigo Boito in Parma and made his debut in 1984 as Graf von Monterone in Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi in Pisa and Don Ruy Gómez de Silva in Ernani in Modena. Pertusi has collaborated with notable conductors including Daniel Barenboim, Riccardo Chailly, and Zubin Mehta, performing at venues such as the Royal Opera House in London, the Metropolitan Opera in New York City, and the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. His notable roles include Conte d’Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Filippo II in Verdi’s Don Carlos. Pertusi received a Grammy Award in 2005 for his performance as Falstaff in Verdi’s opera of the same name, recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra under Sir Colin Davis.
