Papier Tigre, a French rock band from Nantes, Loire-Atlantique, was formed in 2006 by Eric Pasquereau on guitar and vocals, Pierre-Antoine Parois on drums, and Arthur de La Grandière on guitar. Before forming Papier Tigre, the trio played together in Seymour. Their debut album, Papier Tigre, was released in 2007 on Collectif Effervescence. The group's second album, The Beginning and End of Now (2008), and third album, Recreation (2012), were both critically acclaimed. Papier Tigre toured extensively across Europe, Asia, North America, and South America, performing at notable festivals such as South by Southwest in Austin and All Tomorrow's Parties in the UK. The band is known for its energetic live performances and has been compared to groups like The Jesus Lizard, Shellac, Fugazi, and Don Caballero.
