Nathan Wright Stuckey, born on December 17, 1933, in Cass County, Texas, was an American country singer. He began his career as a radio announcer at KALT in Atlanta and later at KWKH in Shreveport, Louisiana. In 1965, Stuckey co-wrote Buck Owens' Number 1 single "Waitin' in Your Welfare Line" and recorded his own hit "Sweet Thang" on Paula Records. The following year, he signed with RCA Records, releasing notable songs such as "Plastic Saddle" and "Sweet Thing and Cisco". He collaborated with Connie Smith on the duet "Young Love", which was nominated for a Grammy. After seven years with RCA, Stuckey moved to MCA Records, where his single "Sun Comin' Up" reached the top 20. His last charting single was "The Days of Sand and Shovels" in 1978. He died on August 24, 1988, from lung cancer.
