Timothy Hutchins, a Canadian classical flutist, began his musical journey at an early age, winning competitions and scholarships by eleven. He earned his BA honors in Music from Dalhousie University and continued his flute education at McGill University under Jeanne Baxstresser. In 1978, Hutchins was appointed Principal Flute of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra (OSM). He has collaborated with notable conductors such as Charles Dutoit, Seiji Ozawa, Vladimir Ashkenazy, and Leonard Bernstein. Hutchins has appeared on more than 70 recordings with the orchestra, alongside solo and chamber projects, and has taught at McGill University since 1978, mentoring numerous flutists.
