Chris Bouchillon

Christopher Allen Bouchillon, born on August 21, 1893 in Oconee County, South Carolina, was an American country and blues musician. Following in his banjo-playing father's footsteps, he formed the Bouchillon Trio with his brothers Charlie and Uris. In 1927, Bouchillon showcased his distinctive "talking blues" style on the hit song "Talking Blues", inspiring artists such as Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan. He continued recording songs until retiring during the Great Depression. Bouchillon passed away on September 18, 1968 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Posthumously, his work was compiled into The Original Talking Blues Man (1987).
