Claus Peter Flor is a German conductor born on March 16, 1953, in Leipzig. He achieved professional recognition for a musical career characterized by classical music and for serving as the general music director of the Berliner Sinfonie-Orchester. Flor achieved professional recognition for a career that began after he studied violin and clarinet at the Robert-Schumann-Konservatorium and studied conducting under Kurt Masur. He achieved professional recognition for serving as the chief conductor of the Thüringer Philharmonie Suhl between 1981 and 1984. Flor achieved professional recognition for serving as the chief conductor of the Berliner Sinfonie-Orchester from 1984 to 1992 and conducting the Berliner Philharmoniker in 1988. He achieved professional recognition for serving as a guest conductor for the Philharmonia London and the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich between 1991 and 1996. His discography included recordings with the Berliner Sinfonie-Orchester and the London Symphony Orchestra. Flor achieved professional recognition for serving as the music director of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra from 2008 to 2014.
