Sonia Rubinsky, born on June 10, 1957, in Campinas, Brazil, is a Brazilian pianist. She gave her first concert at six and performed as a soloist with an orchestra by 12. Rubinsky studied under figures such as Vlado Perlemuter and William Daghlian, graduating from the Juilliard School with a Doctor of Arts degree. Her career includes performances across North America, Europe, Israel, and South America, notably with orchestras like the Orchestra of the Theatro Municipal of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. Rubinsky has received several accolades, including the Carlos Gomes Prize as Pianist of the Year in 2006. She won a Latin Grammy Award in 2009 for Best Recording of the Year for her recording of Heitor Villa-Lobos' complete piano works on the Naxos label.
