Warner Hensley McPherson Jr., known professionally as Warner Mack, was born on April 5, 1935, in Nashville, Tennessee, and was an American country music singer-songwriter. His breakthrough came with his first single "Is It Wrong (For Loving You)", which reached number 9 on the Country charts in 1957. He signed with Decca Records and later moved to Kapp Records. He returned to Decca and achieved his biggest hit with "The Bridge Washed Out" in 1965, which topped the charts for over six months. Throughout the 1960s and early 1970s, he had a series of Top-10 and Top-20 hits. After leaving Decca in 1973, he joined Pageboy Records and continued to compose songs, with over 200 titles to his credit. He passed away on March 1, 2022, at the age of 86.
