Susanne Ingegerd Rydén, born October 2, 1962 in Hjärtlanda, Jönköping County, Sweden, is a soprano specializing in early and classical music. She studied under Berit Hallqvist at the Royal College of Music, Stockholm; René Jacobs at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel, Switzerland; and Jessica Cash in London. Rydén released her debut solo album, Bella Madre de 'Fiori, in 1990, featuring Italian music from the 1500s to the 1700s. She made her debut in 1991 and has performed extensively across Europe and worldwide, including tours with the European Union Baroque Orchestra under Roy Goodman. Notable roles include Angelica in Handel's Orlando and Dido in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas. Rydén has been a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music since 2007 and began serving as its chairman in 2015.
