Fredrik William Ball is a Norwegian record producer and songwriter born on June 5, 1977, in Fredrikstad. He relocated to London in 1997 and established the solo project Pleasure. His recording career began with the debut studio recording Pleasure (2003), which was named the debut of the year by The Sunday Times. Ball released the studio recording Pleasure 2 (2007) and reached professional recognition for his production work for musicians including Rihanna, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Eminem. He co-wrote and produced the single "Love on the Brain" (2016) for the Rihanna studio recording Anti. The song reached number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified 10x platinum in the United States. Ball produced the studio recording Solidarity Breaks (2011) for musician Bernhoft. He has received five Grammy Award nominations, including a nomination for the Bernhoft recording Islander (2014). Ball reached professional recognition in 2019 when he received a Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album for the studio recording Everything Is Love by The Carters.
