On Wednesday, 15 July 2026, during the PECH Committee meeting, the Policy Department for Regional Development, Agriculture and Fisheries will hold a workshop entitled “Cross-border cooperation in fisheries management: Best practices from the Western Waters, the Mediterranean Sea and the Baltic Sea”.
Many fish stocks are shared between neighbouring coastal states, making cross-border cooperation essential to sustainable fisheries management. Three studies highlight different views on fisheries cooperation in different EU sea basins, and identify best practices that could be replicated elsewhere.
