November 2025 Reading Wrap-Up | The Brothers Karamazov | Indie Fantasy
November was a much slower reading month than October. I only read novellas and short stories, and one manga series, and made progress on r/Fantasy's Bingo 2025 card.

[Review] A Man On The Inside Season 2 | Pleasantly Comforting Sequel | Michael Schur Does It Again!
A Man on the Inside continues to tackle very hard-hitting subjects with the sensitivity of a warm hug, and the intelligence of an informed mind. It's funny, it's entertaining, and it's everything you want from a comedy. But, it's also thought-provoking and enlightening.

[Review] Stranger Things Season 5 Vol 1 | Watch or Wait? | Flawed but Epic
Overall, Season 5 did have some flaws, but from an entertainment stand point, it delivered. The scenes in the Upside Down were eerie and exciting. The gang working together to track the Demogorgons and foil Vecna's plan was classic Stranger Things. And best of all: Vecna's sinister plans involving the kids of Hawkins...

[Review] Eddington (2025) | Ari Aster | Satirising COVID
Frankly, this was a pretty accurate depiction of how things would go when mega corporations with unlimited funds get involved in the pettiest of politics.

[Review] No Other Choice (2025) | Park Chan-Wook | Job Hunting In This Cut Throat Economy
I haven't read the book (The Axe) or Costa Gavras' adaptation of the same, so I can't comment about those. However, Park Chan-Wook's version delivers exactly what I expected from the South Korean auteur. It was funny. It was gut-wrenching and uncomfortable at times. But, most importantly, it got very very real.

[Review] The Family Man Season 3 | Not Worth Watching, Honestly…
In the opening lines of the first episode, one of the Naga political leaders proudly mentions how they're lucky to have a PM who actually cares about peace. I couldn't tell whether they were being sarcastic, or trying to pander to the...

[Review] Party Down Season 1 2 3 | The Most Realistic Workplace Comedy? | Adam Scott
I binged this show in less than a week, flat. And honestly, I wish I hadn't. Because...

[Review] Frankenstein (2025) | Guillermo del Toro | The Adaptation We Deserve | Oscar Isaac | Jacob Elordi
I have honestly been waiting for a film like this since I first read Mary Shelley's Frankenstein in 2017. I almost promptly even saw the 1931 Hollywood monstrosity that was so idiotic and demeaning, I legitimately grew upset that this was how the world perceived Shelley's masterpiece.

[Review] The Blackening (2022) | Horror Comedy | A Racially Relevant Black Comedy (pun intended)
The Blackening takes a prevalent horror trope of 'black guy dies first' and flips it on its head. What we get as a result is a hilarious film that actually makes you question the horror genre.

[Review] Creature Commandos Season 1 | James Gunn | The DCU
Creature Commandos, at first glance as well as after finishing the show, is very clearly just James Gunn's The Suicide Squad with monsters.
