Normally the films are not as good as the book. I watched the movie and loved it. A lot. There is talk of making second movie as a follow on, but have no idea if it's going ahead. Worth a read and cheers from DOWNUNDER
It is fantasy Tien although a few people did call it fantasy/sci fi as Brenda says. Most people went with just plain fantasy, That was my nomination and I must have been having a moment. Thank goodness it is not winning!!!!
I thought that with the theme 'SciFi/Dystopian' that there is a focus on the 'dystopian' side of things but I may be reading it too strict :p

Worth a read and ..."I did enjoy the movie and I did love the book when I first read it as a teen but I must admit that I re-read it a few years ago and was appalled that I loved it in my teen years. It's all too emo for me now lol
Did you know there's a tv series too? ABC production, I think?

It's been shelved as high-fantasy & epic-fantasy and any mention of sci-fi is always accompanied by fantasy?
