I've always liked Posten's writing; it's the directions of the story I've been disappointed with. But, with this book? It just struck home to my bibliophilic heart.
The story of the lead getting inside a literal love story is fantastic. The thing that just didn't work for me was the fact that the characters introduced became mundane quite early in the novel, making me favor the first half more than the other. 3.5 Stars ...more

Pros-
Dragons— Without them, the story is nothing, so of course, I love Andarna and Terran. So, I liked that they seemed to have a little better role than the predecessor, not as significant as in Forth Wing, but still better than Iron Flame.
Plot points- Many moments, like asking for others to join the fight or twists with the dragons, are nice. If the book was shorter, then these could have been interesting indeed.
The Ending- I was initially not going to write this point, but after going through the reviews, I did see people hating it, but I think it actually makes an interesting cliffhanger, like, I can read the next book now.
Cons- I can't believe I'm going to say this but... the romance seems over the top at times. I mean, I love nothing but to ship these overly popular fandom couples, but Violet and Zaydon seem way too dramatic at times?
Romance at every interaction seems a bit much. Especially, since it's the third book in the series, I feel like I've already seen their PDA too many times already.
Lack of Perspective— With over 500 pages, I think the book would've been enhanced with more povs other than Violet's, especially when you have so many characters, for a more diverse reading experience.
