Issues unresolved

Crash in loading screen

Game may crash in loading screen. This may due to shaders being compiled in loading screen or an issue with save loading.[17]

Issues fixed

Light and shadow not displaying correctly

Lower resolution[18]
This issue appears when playing at 3840x2160 (4k) resolution.[19]

Black screen when loading a saved checkpoint

Lower graphic settings[20]

Gamepad icons when playing with M&K

Unplug gamepad[21]
You may need to restart computer to be able to turn off gamepad on Windows if it's wired.[22]

Game won't launch on Windows 10

Delete IntroMovies.pak[23]
  1. Go to <path-to-game>\Game2\_FastLoad\.
  2. Delete IntroMovies.pak.

Low FPS out of sudden

Load last checkpoint or restart mission[24]
This issue may appear due to enemies being bugged and the game thinking that they're still on screen.[25]

Game chooses wrong refresh rate

CryEngine 3 may set the monitor's refresh rate to the lowest supported refresh rate if the game is in fullscreen mode; this results in stuttering and poor performance even if internal GPU render shows a high FPS.[26]
Set fullscreen to no and to yes again in options[27]
Override refresh rate set by game[28]
  1. Download 3Dmigoto.
  2. Copy the files in x32 to <path-to-game>.
  3. Open d3dx.ini.
  4. Change ;refresh_rate=60 to the desired value, and remove the semicolon (e.g. refresh_rate=144).
  5. Change hunting=1 to ;hunting=1.
  6. Save the changes and close the file.
Play the game in DirectX 9[28]
Disable fullscreen optimizations
  1. Navigate to <path-to-game>/Bin32/ and locate EnemyFront.exe.
  2. Right click EnemyFront.exe and choose Properties.
  3. Select the Compatibility tab, and check Disable fullscreen optimizations.
  4. Hit Apply and the game will now run at the monitor's native refresh rate.
