Project Motor Racing (commonly abbreviated as "PMR") is a singleplayer and multiplayer simulation racing game developed by Straight4 Studios and published by GIANTS Software. It is a spiritual successor to the GTR - FIA GT Racing Game series.
The game was initially conceived under the name of GTR Revival by former Slightly Mad Studios CEO Ian Bell on September 21, 2022 as a direct successor to the GTR series and to be built using Unreal Engine 5.[1] In April 2023, it would be announced that Straight4 Studios has signed a publishing deal with PLAION for the game. Throughout 2023 and up until July 2024, little new information would be unveiled aside from a rename to GTRevival and car teases. On July 16, 2024, the game was officially renamed to its current name and announced to be published by GIANTS Software - to whose engine the game would move a month later.[2][3]
It would take until April 29, 2025, for the game to be officially revealed with a vague 2025 release window.[4] Straight4 Studios later opens its Factory Driver Program as an invite-only early-access program for the game in July 2025.[5] On November 25, 2025, the game was released on the Steam, Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store storefronts.
Project Motor Racing released to mixed critic reviews and negative reception from the general player base. Most of the heavy criticism is aimed at the lack of optimization caused by the GIANTS Engine and features often found in sim-racing games not being present in the game, such as VR; other issues include AI behaviour, frequent crashes or matchmaking issues.
