It's so easy to use
It's so easy to use, and it helps me world build I can't use anything else now!!
Great Tool for an Indie Author
As an indie author, I've found the Reedsy studio so helpful. I've been able to easily format my book ready for publication and it included all the things I needed. Would definitely recommend.
Amazing experience, highly recommend
This was my first time working with an editor. Reedsy is a very user friendly platform, which allows you to filter to find an editor that fits your needs. You can read their bio, see books that they have previously collaborated on. I was really nervous and had no idea what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to find the editor I chose to work with. I started my search in December and by the end of March I had the report from my editor back in hand. I highly recommend Reedsy, and I will definitely use this site for future projects.
So many good gadgets
I love using them to help with spelling and love how they order up the chapters to acutally seem in order with a real book and really like how they mangage the word count
Poor treatment of suppliers
Bias towards cover art gallery not client work, as mentioned here by another designer. I’m a designer too and my profile was taken off their listings as my work wasn’t too the ‘standard’ of the newly created cover art gallery which promotes work created on Reedsy. I was contacted out of blue by a customer service rep who just announced this with no sensitivity or context. There’s no room for complaint or discussion.
The criteria for designers is that their authors must have 5 x 5* reviews on Amazon.com which is an impossible one to fulfil as it is not the designers responsibility to promote the book, but that of the writer, and is biased towards the non-U.K. platform of Reedsy.
Furthermore there is no guidelines for designers on the selection criteria upon which Reedy decide on the covers for the gallery. It’s impossible to determine what the budgets are for creating the work, increasingly my rates were rejected by hopeful authors whose had very low budgets. Reedsy claim to look at each brief which I find astonishing as there are so many, but in doing this, it goes on fact not context - I suspect AI has a hand in this new regime.
Disappointingly for the authors as they may wish to work with me, my reviews are 5*, my work has won awards and I’m heavily used by major publishers as an art director. Once made inactive, there appears to be no way back to being active. Designers are precious talent but Reedsy has zero respect for their skills, it’s rapidly losing respect in the design field as a place for quality work.
Reedsy Designers Are Real Pros
I've used Reedsy twice to design self-published books. Both times, the designers were very professional and did great work.
A great way to connect with professionals
I'm a new author working on my debut book and I desperately needed an editor and a cover designer. I found both on reedsy and I had an amazing experience. They were both professional, timely and extremely helpful.
The platform itself is very user-friendly and the team was always willing to answer my questions.
I highly recommend it!
A great way to connect with professionals
Reedsy is a great way to connect with very experienced professionals to access the very best advice on getting your writing project as good as it can be
Finally A Site with Professional editors that are reputable
I am so grateful to have finally found an online platform filled with truly professional editors with reputable credentials to support me in my early stages as an author. The entire process was seamless and made doing business an absolute ease. I will definitely be a repeat customer for future projects.
I have had the worse experience and…
I have had the worse experience and their customer service was overwhelmingly and shockingly unprofessional. Just because it’s on a platform doesn’t mean you will get expected completed work, and if you don’t, just dispute it with your bank as you won’t get any help from the team on CS end. Be careful of the ones who say they can do your scope of work because they are itching for some cash and cannot actually fulfill their commitment even with “reviews” on their page (found out those can be fake and orchestrated as my illustrator later admitted). Reedsy probably won’t last much longer.

I have had an account with Reedsy for a few years and have never lost anything (which has been an issue with other writing apps). It’s a great way to have your projects collected in one convenient location. I recommend Reedsy for new and establiahed writers, they won’t let you down.
This app is amazing
This app is amazing, The team is always being helpful, kind, and super supportive, they check up on you every here and there, see if there’s anything you need, if your having difficulties or anything. I love this app and the team so much, they helped me write my dream novel, which is so much more then I could’ve asked for, and the creative/customization options are amazing. If your thinking of writing your own book, Reedsy is your go-to! Please check out Reedsy, have a good day/night.

I find it very clean and very easy to…
I find it very clean and very easy to use. It has really simplified the process of writing which I greatly appreciate. Also, I met my amazing cover designer there and I'm in love with how it looks.
I got scammed for $2,200. Editor faked the job.
I got scammed for $2,200. Not by Reedsy, but by one of the 'professional' editors on it. I spent over $2,200 for a development review / feedback, and he barely touched my book. I thought I'd break the bank to receive quality. The editor had over 90 5-stars. What could go wrong?
Well, he didn't offer ANY developmental feedback. He said the story is good as is. We're speaking about my first book! Best seller already? Ticking that developmental box was money wasted already.
Now, the correction part... He barely touched my manuscript. Fixed up some hyphenated words, some capitals on some words. That's it! I was surprised... Is my book THIS good? I am not an English native, no way my English is 100% correct. So I fed it into AI which found HUNDREDS of typos, mistakes and language mix-ups.
I went back to the 'professional' with my concerns. He said for a second review, I'd have to pay more. I spoke with Reedsy customer service, who said I am on my own, I had to deal with the editor directly. So I tailored a strong email response using the Reedsy policy. This worked. The editor agreed to do a second run. He fixed up 'some' issues. But then, guess what? No correction between chapters 10-16 (according to the correction tracker). He did not even touch them!
I launched an investigation. Turns out, you can buy fake 5-stars for Reedsy :) I am down $2,200 and I still need help before releasing my book.
Lastly, some of the correction he made was bad. I ended up changing a lot of what he was supposed to have fixed.
Yep, I got scammed. And I can't even give him 1-star feedback, because he could retaliate and send fake 1-star review once by book publishes.
Win-win for him.
Reedsy Disovery Reviews throwing away $ 50
Let me be clear, the one star goes to Reedsy Discovery Book Reviews that charges $ 50 for listing your book somewhere to hopefully get a review. I have a niche market book, so I didn't think people would jump on it, Not a single expression of interest. Nothing at all, even after extending the deadline. In contrast, with other services I got from 1 to 5 reviews with the same book, same cover, same everything. I've used professional services from Reedsy before and was happy with them. However, their review service is a total waste of money. Go for a platform that actually delivers.

Reedsy is such a well organized website, and it makes writing so much easier. I love how so many of my favorite features are free. I have already recommended it to several.
Very simple
Very simple, well thought details, making it very easy to write; making it possible to write personal books without concerning anything especially in this AI age; I'm using it collecting digital notes in a place (turning them mini books) ; for making it physical.
The range of editors
The range of editors, connection with other writers, competitions and the experience on the Reedsy site was great. My editor Chris was fantastic.
Reedsy and Me= happiness
I enjoy how easy and intuitive the Reedsy website is and it's functionality. It's great to hire professionals as well through the website and extremely easy.
I highly recommend Reedsy to any writer because of it offers so many options and is a great resource!
Three Experiences - SAME Great Outcome!
I've worked with the professionals at Reedsy 3 different times now - a book editing project, graphic design with technical preflight for KDP, and a marketing strategy collaboration. Every single time has been great, and I look forward to the next opportunity.
