I chuckled and realized that’s more than Seinfeld ever actually earned from me. How’s it hold up with a rewatch in the year 2026?
I like it for the nostalgia factor (my parents watched it), but there’s two things that make it particularly funny for me. First is that you absolutely know each little irksome downer that propels the episode is something that Larry David has been seething about for like 20 years. Second is that it reads, in retrospect, like a burn piece made by Larry David on how shitty of a comic Jerry actually is, especially in light of Curb.
Some episodes completely collapse in a world where everyone has cell phones. You just have to remember how it was back then…
