How festive this tractor is! Christmas dinner next to decorating at the tractor! I also love the 55%/45% split background with the traditional red and green! Wonderful ideas shared on this card made by the ultra talented Janis! Thanks for your Guest Designer inspiration projects during 2022!!!

and

from FQCB owner Becca S:

Our family had a few station wagons while growing up in the 1960s-70s! We even had several vacations with our maternal grandparents traveling with us. They went with us to Pike's Peak, Royal Gorge, Mesa Verde, and the Grand Canyon when I was turning 7. Grandma was passing out chewing gum to us when driving up and down those Colorado mountains in order to help our ears with the pressure changes! Who else did that???

Lots of die-cut ephemera were mixed to create this nostalgic outdoors travel themed card.

Surrounding the truck die-cut with the different leafy foliage patterns is a super idea! Helps create an outdoors-y look!

There's an idea for my husband and I to do--traveling/mobile Christmas party tailgate style!!! Adorable image! Thanks Janis for creating this fabulous card! And for sharing your marvelous talents with us several times since starting in late February! We value your support of our efforts at FarmQuest!

from DT member Dottie S:

https://somethingcraftybydottie.blogspot.com/

Isn't this perfect for this Anything Farm Country Goes theme?!!! The background paper has weathervanes (we've had as a theme option), windmill (we've had as a theme option), pick-up truck (we've had as a theme), and farmhouse (we've covered many things such as porch furniture, quilts, barrels, and more found at a farmhouse)!!! Dottie's even used a checked gingham ribbon!!!--another theme challenge back in the spring!!!

I'm doing a rustic woods-y outdoor look with the pine needles, pinecones, and deer along with textile burlap and textile prints of plaids and checked gingham!

FQCB REMINDER Theme #11 Anything Farm Country Goes

Howdy! Welcome back to the farm! The midway reminder time has come already!

FARMQUEST Challenge Blog's Theme #11=

Anything Farm Country Goes

 means

Anything Goes that has a farm rural country vibe.

That includes topic categories like fishing, camping, fire pits and/or campfires, pond/lake life, porch furniture, farming, ranching, orchards/gardens/produce stands, fences, farm equipment, farm animals, fabrics like denim, plaids, and ginghams, picnics, harvest, planting, grain bins, silos, barns, country roads, and so many more.

Competition ends September 13, 2022 at 12:30 am Central Time/Chicago.

This "Anything Goes Farm Country Vibe" challenge theme will return to FarmQuest in late December.

Design inspiration:

*from Guest Designer Janis Lewis= old pickup truck featured on her autumn greeting card

This is a spectacular card! Terrific vibrant patterned cardstocks are used for the background to the pickup truck die-cut.

A bit about Janis' crafting adventures:

Janis Lewis is the owner/administrator for 2 important Facebook groups for crafting bloggers: Paper, Paper, Paper and DT Calls and Craft Challenges and DT Calls. She also owns Crafting Happiness challenge blog, and serves on several design teams. Her personal crafting blog address is shown on her card's photo. Make sure to leave her some comment love at one of her places!

____________________

*from FQCB owner Becca S= straw hat and planter pot of daisies could be sitting on a farmhouse porch or a rural home's yard

Some vendor notes for the card: several elements are from Simple Stories card kit and then Fancy Pants Designs. The sentiment focal's white lettering was color-filled to add some bold tones to the card front. Blue ink edges the sentiment focal, paper 'ribbon' strip and the background panel. A bit of denim print paper scrap acts as a faux floor for the gardening objects. And a sweet partial metallic foil butterfly accents the 'sky' above the daisies.

Now hurry and do your craft questing through your supplies in order to create, post, and submit your entry on the Inlinkz tool address in the main posting on August 28th.

Guest Designer Karen Letchworth's theme interpretation is=

Karen opted to use the butterfly clip as her animal and not have a wagon. She's filled the card with lots of gardening, farmhouse, vintage folk art/home economics elements that pack tons of charm!!!

Absolutely darling! Thanks so much, Karen!

FQCB owner Becca's theme interpretation is=

A few credits to share are: (1) teal/aqua barn siding with chevron stripe paper is part of my last scrap section (The Paper Studio); (2) "life is better in the country" was cut from an ephemera piece; (3) the "TOY" stamp is  (2001 Stampin' Up); (4) the stars print and acorn print scraps (Lake Life paper pad); (5) the golden yellow scrap (My Mind's Eye--?); (6) the white with black short marks print is recycled/upcycled inside business envelope security paper!!! YES!!!; (7) covered wagon is free clipart printable (ClipArt Library website); and the shaggy longhorn in front of the wagon is a rub-on transfer!!!!

A tidbit to learn about Becca S:

I lived in metro Dallas, TX for two years before the big suburban sprawl. I used to take Saturday or Sunday drives to the 'little' farm towns like Parker, Wiley, and Sachse. I've toured the ranch house where the 80s-90s TV show "Dallas" was filmed. I also got to stand about 75 feet from a park scene being filmed in the North Dallas/Highland Park area that actress Victoria Principal was part of. That was super cool! I only watched for an hour. The crew was there for several hours but later in the episode, only about 3-5 seconds worth of that park scene were actually used!!! I was just 22-24 years old and came back to the Midwest after that brief time.

FQCB Theme #8 Wagon AND OR Animal starting 14 July 2022

Howdy! Yee-haw! Welcome to the farm--

FarmQuest Challenge Blog!

Theme #8

starts July 14, 2022 at 12:30am CT/Chicago or 6:30 am UK

and

ends July 27, 2022 at 12:30am CT/Chicago or 6:30am UK.

Required elements=

*use a wagon

AND/OR

*use an image/print of an animal(s)

This is definitely a rural set of topics, whether you go ranching, farming, gardening, backyard with pets or frontier. The EITHER OR AND is now available with the theme elements and hopefully this will increase participation. Can't wait to see how FQCB readers will interpret the theme options for #8!!!

___________________________

Guest Designer for Theme #8 is Lori Barrett-Stroup, scrap layout and card maker extraordinaire!!! Lori has chosen to just use a wagon/hay wagon for her TN layout.

Guest Designer Inspiration Project:

What a wonderful layout and I'm thankful to see both red and green tractors in the border!!! Talk about a debate subject amongst the men in my extended family!!! My father had an Allis Chalmers dealership for a few years when I was a youngster and even was a John Deere salesman before that and years after that! So it's difficult for me to go with red, green or orange. To make it worse my husband has owner Minneapolis-Moline (yellow) and Ford (gray)!!!--reflection by Becca

Lori always has the best Travelers Notebook layouts! If you need inspiration and motivation, check out her blog to see more of them.

___________

GD's profile info:

Lori's TN layout was inspired by her childhood memories of summer hay being mowed and baled. Isn't that the cutest little tractor with hay wagon border you've seen?!!!

Lori's blog sidebar has links to her crafty endeavors like The Great Stash Bash and TN Times with Lisa and Lori.

xx///\\\/\/\/\/\/XXX///\\\/\/\/\/xx

FQCB owner Becca's Inspiration Project:

I've chosen to use a wagon and some cows. I went for a western US frontier ranch/farm look with the covered wagon clipart (ClipArt Library website) and the cow rub-on transfers. Barn siding chevron striped paper (The Paper Studio/Hobby Lobby). The star and acorn scraps (Lake Life paper pad). The golden yellow and white scrap (My Mind's Eye-?). The white with little black line geometric print is recycled/upcycled interior business envelope---YES! Twine is the only embellishment. And old black lettering stickers for the simple sentiment.

FQCB Theme #7 Barrel AND Watering Can or Pitcher or Bucket starts 28 June 2022

Howdy! Yippee! It's reveal day for FarmQuest

Theme #7

required duo=

*Barrel

AND

*Watering Can/Pitcher or Bucket

Competition runs June 28 to July 13, 2022.

It starts at 12:30am Central Time/Chicago on June 28 and ends at 12:30am on July 13.

_______________________________

Welcome to our Theme #7

GUEST DESIGNER, the very talented Leslie Turner=

My name is Leslie Turner and I live in beautiful Colorado. My husband and I have four grown children, three grandsons and three granddaughters, all scattered around the US. I began scrapbooking 45+ years ago, so long ago that all the fun papers and embellishments we use today hadn't even been thought of, and then graduated to card making. These days I would definitely be considered a crafting junkie and really enjoy creating all things paper - handmade cards, 3-D projects, paper shoes and purses, mini albums and gift bags. I occasionally dabble in mixed media and art journaling. I consider myself a clean crafter although I do enjoy lots of layers and getting inky occasionally. I truly love inspiring people to get crafty and I’m always inspired by other paper artists. Thanks so much for inviting me to guest design for FarmQuest Challenge Blog!

I'd love for you to follow me on social media!

To get specific details about her project, use this permalink she's provided:

GD inspiration project interpretation for Theme #7 and Leslie's selfie:

Isn't this a fantastic gardening theme friendship card?!! So sweet! Leslie chose a barrel planter that are very popular in the USA for container-style gardening and a water pitcher. The border patterned paper is showing some partial watering cans and other gardening images, too.

and the cheerful Leslie:

Leslie's theme interpretation is wonderful and it is tremendous that she's sharing her artistry with us at FarmQuest! Thanks so much!

____________________________________

OWNER, Becca S, inspiration project

Some credits are: "Love Grows Here" card kit from Simple Stories provided the background 2 pattern paper panel, the rooster on the barrel, watering can, blue butterfly glued to the barrel, and the little black and white checked heart; Stampin' Up 2001 "HB" stamp; and the gray and white checked gingham paper is from Hot Off The Press.

A personal gardening tidbit from me during current years has been limited to some spring and summer flowers such as peonies, tiger lilies, roses, tulips, and daffodils. These are along the south side of our house.
At my childhood home there were roses in several locations, lily of the valley on both sides of the front porch steps, a row of peonies along the back sidewalk, and then behind the house in different spots were a patch of rhubarb, grape vines, and the vegetable garden spot. On the NW corner of the house was a big lilac bush and out on the SE corner of the property next to the driveway entrance were spirea bushes. Lots to take care of but also to enjoy their beauty and bounty.

Guest Designer Dottie Seubert's inspiration project=

What a wonderful retro/vintage farm kitchen card made by Dottie Seubert!!!

GD Dottie Seubert has been involved in several past design teams in challenge blogland so many of you are probably acquainted with her work. She quickly responded when I asked if she would create a project for this #6 reminder post at FQCB. It's amazing and so country farmhouse kitchen perfect!

Howdy! Yippee! Glad you came to FarmQuest!

This is a challenge blog focused on country/rural topics related to gardening, orchards, farmers markets, lake life, ranching, farming, camping, hiking, etc.

Theme #6 has a great pair combo:

*use berries or cherries

(strawberries, gooseberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, cranberries or cherries)

AND

*a vessel container for them that is NOT a basket--pie pan, cake plate, dessert plate, mixing bowl, cereal bowl, colander/strainer bowl, jam/jelly jar, etc.

For theme #6 inspiration=

Guest Designer for Theme #6 is the creatively skillful Kelly Sullins-Joehrs=

Doesn't her card make you hungry for pie? And her chosen sentiment is perfect too!

This is the talented artisan's picture and brief profile=

Kelly is a cardmaker and has been creating handmade cards since her friend introduced her to cardmaking in 2010.  She loves sending her cards to family and friends to let them know she's thinking about them and to brighten their day. Over the years, she has served on design teams to create inspiring projects for several companies. When Kelly's not in her studio creating cards,  you can find her working as a Real Estate Broker or enjoying the beautiful outdoors where she lives in Florida.

and FQCB owner Becca S's inspiration project for Theme #6=

Some credits for the mix of blueberry and blackberry card: checked gingham/plaid paper (Lake Life by); berry sweet frame and sentiment/tag are from Echo Park's Farmhouse Kitchen Frames and Tags set (2020); the little blackberry jam jar tag is from Echo Park's Farmers Market Frames and Tags set (2021).

This is definitely berry sweet and I've included some faux blueberries with the navy pearl gems.

___________________________________

Now it's your turn to go on a quest for this cooking/baking pair-up! June is country cooking month as well as National Dairy month, so a bowl of ice cream topped with berries sounds really yummy! I had a mixed berry medley along with pizza and tossed salad for lunch and supper today over at my mother's farm. My sister, niece, and great nephew have traveled over 12 hours to spend a few days with us! Our brother, sister-in-law, and nephew drove 2-3 hours to join us for lunch and afternoon visiting in the air conditioning! It's a scorcher in Illinois!

Acceptable formats are mentioned in the rules but I'll state them here so you can start brainstorming ideas and think about where to search in your stash. Scrapbook layouts, TN spreads, journals/planners, tags, bookmarks, cards, and ATCs.

Guest Designer: Mags B or Maggie Brinkley from UK

Mags is on several design teams. She stays busy every week crafting for her DT commitments. We share two--My Time To Craft challenge blog and My Time To Craft Christmas. She's stepped up and helped create an extra project for each since we have some DT members taking breaks in 2022. Her willingness to do this has been so very appreciative. And she's extended her craft time even more to be the guest designer for this reminder Theme #5 post!!! Thank you Mags!!!

A darling ATC! She heat embossed the background and then stamped over it. This technique she learned through Online Card Classes Spring Boot Camp 2022. It certainly provides interest.

Some design and vendor notes for #2 include: white card base and all the elements on this card front except the twine, staples, and the gray heart strip are from Simple Stories card kit "Happy Greetings". The vase, the yellow-ish buds, and the leaves on the little sprig were colored 'over' with a raw sienna crayon and the file storage boxes die-cut had 'thyme' and 'oregano' written on the labels.
