I agree with you in cases where individual change is hard, costly and has barely any influence on the big picture (like your “individual CO2 footprint"). But in this case the individual solution is to quit using a terrible browser and install a free extension in the new one, and it has all the impact it needs because it makes the problem go away. I can’t take anybody seriously who will willingly put themselves through youtube ads when they are this easily avoided.
The problem stays the same, why should the answer change?

Je höher das Einkommen ist, desto weniger tut ein Tagessatz weh, weil ab einer gewissen Schwelle ein großer Teil gespart bzw. angelegt wird. Aber diese komplette Unfähigkeit, die hier Gestalt vollständiger Ideenlosigkeit zur Schau gestellt wird, ist vollkommen unwürdig für Leute, die die drittgrößte Volkswirtschaft der Welt führen wollen.
Ich glaube das ist nicht Unfähigkeit sondern Böswilligkeit. Die Werkzeuge, die gerade erforderlich wären, existieren im rechtskonservativ/neoliberalen Werkzeugkasten der Bundesregierung schlicht nicht. Und ich bin der Meinung, dass die das auch genau wissen. Es kann aber nicht sein, was in ihrer Ideologie nicht sein darf. Die fahren das Land lieber an die Wand, statt Werkzeuge des politischen Gegners anzufassen.

Yoda saw the fall of the democratic nation he wanted to protect, the rise of a fascist empire, and lost everybody he ever knew and cherished along the way, only to end up as a bitter hermit in a swamp. Soldiers are victims too, even if they don’t die in a war.

I agree. But what we’re seeing is voter migration from e.g. the social democrats to the fascists. Those can’t all be “hardened” right wingers (yet) who are lost to democracy. Otherwise, why would they ever have voted social democrat before? There’s a lot of people who are disappointed with politics and feel that no government ever did anything for them. But they turn to the people who openly tell them that they’ll fuck them over even worse.
And now that they’re disappointed with him, polls move further to the right, so they still don’t get the problem.

Final Fantasy 7 (the original). With so many singing it’s praises, I figured I should try and finish it once. I just got out of the desert prison. I have to say, so far I don’t really get the hype.
