100% staged.
First, he’s not allowed to eat McDonald’s by his doctor, and he probably doesn’t even like it, never has. That’s always been bullshit. There’s a White House chef, at least one, on staff in the kitchen.
Second, there’s no way the delivery would be brought up to the door by the driver, it would be dropped off at the gate, and taken by staff from there.
Finally, the idea that he would answer random questions from a stranger is laughable.
and he probably doesn’t even like it, never has. That’s always been bullshit
Strangely you’re the first person to make that claim. Literally everyone else disagrees with you from what I’ve read on the internet, including his former aids.
The story for decades now has been that he gets McDonald’s all the time because he thinks getting random drive thru meals means he can’t be poisoned. I’m sure that the White House doctors have been doing everything they can to get him to stop eating McDonald’s, but he’s definitely a huge McDonald’s guy
Didn’t he bring in a bunch of McDonalds for some sports team first term?
Yes. And I read the other day that he did it again like last month.
Sadly, I don’t think he ever had AIDS.
If staged, it’s staged badly as she seemed hesitant to admit she voted for him and then said she had no opinion on “men in women’s sports” when asked lol
Oh it was staged they just used a real gig worker who wasn’t in on the whole thing. How probably went down his staff used one of the food apps to order his McDonald’s. Probably delivered somewhere else. Then secret service hussled this poor woman into suv and force this whole awkward situation on her. But the whole performance was staged. He never get door dash delivered to him.
When have they not staged things poorly?
Anyway, there’s no way in hell a delivery like that is going all the way past security.
So like the President can just order food and some random delivery person brings it over? No vetting who they are and no vetting of the food? I wonder if I’m gonna read about the world’s dumbest assassination in the next week.
99% chance [edit: that it’s] staged
What a country ! Can’t believe “doordash grandma” is a thing. Grandma’s here play with grandchildren, travel for fun, have hobbies.
A little cyanide would have gone a long way.
Amazing, what a surreal experience for all involved
Emphasis on surreal, cause there’s no way this wasn’t staged.
weughed
Is that the UK spelling or has journalism editing got this bad?
The man really does eat McDonalds constantly.
This was obviously staged … but damn man, why McDonalds?
Damn, AI is getting crazy…what it’s not…he did what…sighhhhh
Plausible 🙄
Damn hamburglar!
How was she allowed anywhere near him? He is a POS but he is the fucking President.
Sshh. Let the security around him get as relaxed as possible. Don’t fuck this up for us by pointing it out.
If he did this to get an independent opinion then that’s clever.
Shit like this is why he’s so hard to beat. It pains me to say it, but this is objectively the most relatable thing a modern president has ever done
Edit: Am I really getting downvoted just because I said something very slightly positive about one particular action Trump took? Even though I made it clear that I don’t like him? Hopefully there’s some other reason I’m missing or some of y’all are crazy. Like, I fucking hate Trump… But that doesn’t mean its physically impossible for there to be something relatable about this one particular thing or something. I’m just pointing out that this is why he still manages to retain so much support. Not saying that’s reasonable. Jeez
What are you doing in your life that being swarmed with reporters while receiving delivery slop food is a relatable experience?
I just mean getting the McDonald’s delivery, of course. It may not be super relatable, but can you think of something more relatable done by a modern president? Especially if we stipulate that it was not done as just a completely manufactured publicity stunt - because I feel like this really was a case of Trump just wanting McDonald’s.
can you think of something more relatable done by a modern president?
Eating an ice cream cone at an ice cream shop.
That’s 1000 times more relatable than door dashing shitty drive through.
Damn yo the two examples of how a leader of a nation can seem to appear to live a life somewhat similar to the citizens are [Eat Cheap Food]?
Man, the bar is so low, huh?
Someone else posted a third one that was also about eating McDonald’s specifically 🥲
Lmaoooo fuck dude
We’re so boned.
The oligarchs do nothing for us and yet people be like “omg they require food to live just like me!”
The missing ingredient in those stunts, to me, is that I just don’t buy that the president really wanted that ice cream enough to stop in for some even though it was unusual. Whereas I totally buy that Trump would randomly want McDonald’s and not care whether doordashing it is reasonable or appropriate
There’s more of a reason to stop at an ice cream shop than there is to ever door dash McDonald’s.
Ice cream shops are enjoyable. Soft serve always tastes better than scooped ice cream in a cone. More flavor options at an ice cream shop. Small batch homemade ice cream will always be superior to any chain ice cream.
It makes 1000 times more sense to stop at an ice cream shop than it does to door dash shitty McDonald’s.
You’re grasping at straws here. Nothing about this is relatable to the average American, unless you’ve got brain damage.
unless you’ve got brain damage
So as I said, relatable to the average American
I’m sure it even had his name at the bag at the restaurant 🙄
Read the article
I assume you’re referring to the paragraph I read before commenting:
The publicly unscheduled but clearly scripted press event played out just after noon as the press pool was ushered to the front door of the White House to watch the president of the United States grin and receive two large bags of McDonalds from a delivery driver who then turned to reporters and praised the GOP’s move to end taxes on tipped wages in 2025.
And this is why I said completely manufactured, because it seems like the reason McDonald’s was chosen is simply because Trump wanted McDonald’s - though I acknowledge this is debatable, its possible he plays it up for Americana vibes. The delivery order is still real, although her commentary is of course fake.
Again, I’m not saying that it’s rational for this to relatable, or that the fact that its relatable ought to endear us to Trump legitimately, I’m just saying that to me it seems that it IS relatable whether that makes sense or not, and his ability to inject his own self into these stunts is part of what makes him hard to defeat politically.
Putting aside that The Idiot simply would not recognize decorum if he choked on it - Bill Clinton jogged to McDonalds.
Oooh okay yes that’s a good point. Although I still think removing the jogging component makes it more relatable for most Americans, lol
not for someone like me. I don’t have the bucks for that trump.
For sure not relatable to everyone, nothing is. But lots of Americans doordash their McDonald’s. And its not something we picture a president or even a wealthy person doing. That’s what makes it humanizing at the very least, if not relatable
Doordashing fast food just boggles my mind. I mean a good pizza or chinese place is a bit healthier, better tasting, and cheaper to have delivered. If your lucky there are a few other things with delivery menus around to.
Yeah I feel ya. But objectively, doing so is hugely popular. The fact McDonald’s has special packaging just for it really goes to show what a huge part of their income its become.
I don’t think going to church makes any sense either, but there’s no denying that being seen doing so makes you relatable to a good chunk of the country. (Although not as big a chunk as some may like to pretend…)
Hey, so I’ve got this bridge for sale.
I really think people are misunderstanding me. I’m not buying what Trump is selling with this event.
You’re still wrong about it being in any way relatable even to the pig-ignorant shit-heads that vote for him. It’s propaganda is what it is.
Door dash is expensive and a waste for like 90% of the population. So not really relatable.
