I highly doubt Kristi Noem was hardcore MAGA before the orange utan offered her the job in exchange for blind obedience. But she certainly was the immoral politician willing to do anything for power. Just like Rubio: they’re all turncoats first and foremost.
Whether you think Bryon Noem demonstrates a character flaw and moral turpitude by marrying a power-hungry woman, and whether he should be punished for it, is up to you.
The only one who compromised Kristi Noem is Kristi Noem. If her husband puts party balloons under his shirt and it stays in their bedroom, I don’t see how that impacts the horrors she did.
I admit that I would have been willing to throw Bryon Noem under the bus to get to his wife and oust her faster, because the good of the country and the poor people she unlawfully got arrested, deported and killed outweigh the good of that one man. But now that she’s out of office, Bryon Noem should be out of the limelight.

Ah no, I’m in northern Europe 🙂 I use standard because I grew up an American (which I am no more, thankfully) and that’s still what “speaks” to me for casual measurements. For anything precise though, I’m a metric boy.
The land was public before the first owner bought it. I have the cadastral records. Back in the 60s, this was literally a swamp with five houses around the lake, and people bought land here to build summer cottages on the cheap. Now it’s quickly turning into an unaffordable posh suburb of the main city nearby that has tripled in size - but I still managed to score this prime piece of land and the house on top of it for pre-pandemic dollar, because I got very, VERY lucky.
My best guess - and the original owner’s - is that this was somebody’s fishing or hunting spot, and they built the cooler without asking anybody’s permission.
Oh I know when they were built: 1967. That’s when the first owners bought the land and built their first house on it.
And not a second too soon.

They were probably built at the same time as the mystery cold storage thing - if that’s what it is. In fact, if you think they look old, a couple of months ago they weren’t even visible: they were buried under 5 inches of dirt and were starting to merge with the surrounding vegetation. They look like steps again because I dug them up.
That makes total sense. But only if the lake was lower than it is now some 75 years ago. It might well have been: this place was kind of swampy and full of mosquitoes for a long time until the state decided to build a dam to control the outflow of the lake into the river and pump air into it to raise the oxygen level - and now it’s a fancy, desirable lake 🙂

I guess it could use a slightly lower FOV angle to look less distorted on a phone. It seems alright on desktop. It’s a compromise: the lower the FOV, the slower it spins around with the mouse. But of course, if you activate sensor control on the mobile version of Pannellum, this becomes moot.

Yes, and something else also: when somebody is a “colorful” character like Trump, it becomes even harder to distinguish what is somebody’s normal behavior from the effects of the dementia.
My Dad was somewhat eccentric and neither my Mom, my siblings or I realized there was something seriously wrong with him for a long time: we just assumed he was being weird like he always was, until he become erratic enough, and most importantly violent - which he had never been - that we brought him to the doctor, who showed us the MRI: he was in an advanced state of FT dementia, but we just didn’t see it. And then with hindsight, it all became clear all of the sudden.
