Career

[edit]

Ocon's first big wins after his carting career came with his win at the 2014 Formula 3 European Championship and the 2015 GP3 Series. Eventually, Ocon signed with the Manor Racing F1 team in 2016, competing in nine races in his rookie season. Ocon then moved to Force India, finishing 8th in the 2017 Formula One World Championship and 12th next year. He later joined Mercedes as a reserve driver before returning as a starting driver with the 2020 Renault team.

He continues to feature in the middle of the table with the French team, placing 12th and 11th in the 2020 and 2021 seasons, respectively. Although Ocon had breakthrough moments in 2021, earning his first GP win at the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix, it wasn't until the 2022 season that Ocon would match his F1 peak, finishing 8th with Alpine.
