The South African Chris Wood is not only an architect but also a musician with a fondness for electronics. He has been involved with music his entire life. As a child he played the violin, and as a student he played in various rock bands. However, after moving to Johannesburg in 1996, he began experimenting with electronic sounds, explicitly choosing a sampler instead of a traditional instrument. On his own, Chris Wood explored the wondrous world of electronica. Creative samples and minimalist rhythms have become his trademark. ~ Musicitems.clint.be

A continuation of his previous album Palimpsest, Misoneism sees Chris Wood exploring the tension between roots and innovation. Distorted breaks, digital glitches, and dark atmospheres intertwine with hints of trance and early Warp textures. Often abrasive yet rich in ideas—from the shadowy pulse of the title track to the unexpected melodic turns in the final pieces—it marks another bold step in Wood’s evolving sound.
