I wholeheartedly disagree that either Trump or a snake oil salesman can be classified as charismatic. Convincing, persuasive, encouraging to idiots, all those seem accurate but charisma implies positive characteristics and they don’t have any.

It’s meaningless semantics in the end but either way I will never use that word to describe Trump.

Sadly, this is not how charisma works. I agree it SHOULD be a positive trait aimed towards those it impacts… but Charisma does not translate to imparting positive aspects to those it’s impacting. It’s functionally coercion through charm. Charisma =/= good… unfortunately.

That being said, I don’t understand how the Orange diaper stain is considered charismatic. Boggles the mind.

It never occurred to me until just now that it’s unusual for the Grim Reaper to be depicted without legs like that. This looks like an EverQuest spectre.

Man, you got me thinking about trying Project Quarm again. I’ve only ever played a tiny bit on private servers, but it seemed fun, and I want to give it a better shot.

I played Project 1999 for a while, but much as I loved the game back in the day, I don’t have the time to deal with such a group-heavy game any more. I see Project Quarm stops with Planes of Power. I quit the game (the first time) after Legacy of Ykesha, so that era’s pretty close to what I remember the game being like in the old days. Did you ever play EQ Live in its heyday?

Nah, the only legit EQ I ever played was a bit of 2 when that was still relatively new, and it seemed interesting, but my friends ended up pulling me in a different direction.

Props to you for playing even a little bit of the OG, then! It’s horribly dated today, but being forced to group to survive made lifelong memories.

Yeah, WoW after the first couple expansions helped me realize that some of the difficulties and obstacles in MMOs are important because that’s what pushes you into the social side of things, and if you’re not interacting with the social side, you’re just playing a really grindy RPG.
