The part 1 of the season 3 is insane. So many creative directing decisions were made.

That conversation between Yuji and Hakari, Yuji washing his hands, Megumi and Reggie 7 second physical fight followed by the dog showing up for half a second.

I think I’ve never seem so much creativity before in an anime animation, although I don’t watch anime so much nowadays.

This season was wild. I think the plot kind of flew off the rails but the fights were breathtaking. The direction was also surprisingly experimental which is a nice change of pace from all the generic action anime out there.

Between this and Frieren, it’s already a great year for anime.
