People have their tastes, but I still think this is dumb.

I hate websites that hijack the back button.

Next: It’s all fillers

"Enjoy the RGB like with real memory"

Wouldn’t two half-sized sticks perform better?

I thought dual-channel RAM was a thing at least as far back as the original Socket A nForce chipset.

You would get some amount of increased performance from dual 8 GB chips, yes, but getting 1x16 GB chip allows you to upgrade to 32 GB later for the cost of 1 more 16 GB chip, instead of having to get a 2x16 GB set. Can be much more economical, especially with prices these days.

Why not just sell two 8 gig sticks? You get more channels that way anyways and it’s the ram that is expensive not the stick you mount it on.

This pill is guaranteed to enhance your ram and impress the ladies!

A sucker and his money are soon parted.

Lets just go back to beige boxes with no glass and no rgb.

I’m really enjoying the wave of nice-looking wood-panel cases with no windows that are coming out lately. I picked up the mesh Fractal North XL and it looks magnificent in my living room.

Damn. That is a nice looking case.

It keeps the slot clean until ram is affordable again in 10-15 years

That’s giving ‘em the hose, cowboy!

This reminds me of the fake animals that people buy in “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” for appearances.

What the fuck…

It’s the RAMBUS days all over again.

I miss Rd-RAM. It was fun. The N64 used it.

Okay, that’s kinda hilarious.

First I’ve heard of putting LED on RAM………. which……… ugh……… I mean, the last computer I bought has LED on the fans and I do admit I kinda like having it, but I sure didn’t seek it out…. And on my RAM? that’s hilarious.

That said……. alright, long as they’re clear about it - and this appears to be imho…… sure, why not? lol

NEVER buy a “kit”, anyways!!

IF 1 single stick is bad, but you bought 4 as a “kit”, now you have to ship ALL 4 back, for RMA!!

ONLY buy single-sticks.

Don’t get burned like I did!

( no RAM for a few weeks, until they’ve confirmed, & got around to issuing a replacement, sucks )

Thought it was usually recommended to use paired sticks since sometimes buying from different batches can cause issues with stability when trying to use xmp/expo

Though maybe that’s outdated advice and newer stuff plays better together.

From what I’ve heard, this advice has gotten more relevant with DDR5 rather than less, to the point that CAMM2 modules just bundle both “sticks” onto one package. That’s probably also a packaging design choice, to be fair.

You couldn’t ask a buddy to borrow a stick or something? This generation is dual channel with single stick. Perf loss from single stick isn’t so bad.. and you definitely don’t need 64GB+ of memory for the majority of use cases, which is where quad stick ddr5 is as a minimum.
