That graph does not show an all-time high
I don’t understand, it does appear to show the ~19k players all-time peak ?
I just went and checked myself, it’s gone up even further and ya it’s higher than during the 1.0 release

Too bad the publisher yanked the game off the devs, then gutted them
For anyone who isn’t aware, there’s a game in development called Kitten Space Agency, and some of the original KSP devs are part of it. It’s shaping up to be technologically much better than KSP. The plan is also that it’ll be free, supported by donations only.
While you’re at it, they also have an awesome game called Stationeers that I think people who like KSP would also like. It’s very different, but there’s no other game like it. Last I heard, it’s actually costing them money to keep developing it, but they are doing it anyway. It’s a very cool studio that seems to not be driven by maximizing profits.
Wait until you hear that the same thing happened to NASA following artemis 2 p much
They also just outright took away ownership from a lot of the early backers (like me!) via a migration that many of us were not informed of. Hell when I got the game the purchase terms guaranteed access to all future DLC (which I did get until the game was rescinded from my ownership) and actually encouraged distributing copies to friends because they were still very much in the word of mouth phase.
Wait what happened with ksp? It’s been years since I’ve played and I’ve owned the game since early adopter, I’m scared that I’m one of the people you’re describing who is now locked out? I guess I could try installing it and find out.
The old site is gone, there’s now a new site by the new owners and if you didn’t migrate at the time your account and purchases are gone.
And corporations wonder why people pirate shit
That’s probably not kids or new players, but old players returning, some maybe with RSS to try and replicate Artemis missions.
I feel almost ashamed at how uninterested I am in what happens now, I used to love space at times when reusable Falcons were the hype, and KSP for a very long time was my favourite and most played game at around 1200 hours. sigh
Interested people should look up Kitten Space Agency.
It’s little more than a tech demo at the moment but is already showing great promise as a spiritual successor

OG KSP with mods is still pretty awesome
Not like there was a STEM storage to begin with.
wait were you stockpiling engineers?
Yeah, they’re out back injecting themselves with estrogen and planning anarchocommunist revolution.
Hey, I resemble that comment…
