First to do it, so much happened in that game. How do you feel?
00:04
I feel relief more than anything. I think, like, these girls are just amazing.
00:12
There were so many points in that game where I was like, wow, we've blown this.
00:16
To come back, to have the grit and the heart to come back and take that at the last minute was just incredible.
00:23
I'm just so proud of them and what it means to the club. This is our first ever flag, ever, ever.
00:28
I don't even have the words to explain it. It's just awesome.
00:34
I think I heard someone in the crowd say something about how big the dog is, it's about four times bigger than a dog.
00:38
I think that was so true of them today.
00:40
100%, that last intercept that Olivia Leonard took, she's probably the shortest player on our team.
00:45
She's just a big game player, just always stands up when we need her to.
00:49
She's only liked to go toe-to-toe with very, very experienced players, VNL players.
00:55
Girls that have won premierships before, I'm just so proud of her.
00:59
I think it's extra special because she is a born and bred Bulldog.
01:02
She has played at Dales her whole life, just like Romy.
01:04
Romy Street, I thought was massive for us. She was massive for us.
01:08
Just so composed and that's what we need in those games. I'm just so proud of them.
01:13
I think that's what makes this such a truly great team.
01:16
The depth that we have when we need someone to stand up because something's not working, someone else does stand up.
01:24
I think that's the real strength of our team.
01:26
The heart and the fact that we have so many players that can play different positions so that when something's not working,
01:31
we can move things around and they just stand up in those big moments.
01:34
I think that's what really got us across the line today.
01:36
I think it's also a huge credit to yourself as well.
01:38
What have you done with the club in the space of three years of being there? You should be so proud.
01:43
I really am but it's not just me, it's a lot of people who are involved behind the scenes.
01:48
I believe that we could do something pretty amazing.
01:54
I'm not really a coach, I'm not really a technical coach. I've never done coaching before I got here.
01:59
But I think I can really bring people together and I think that's what this is about.
02:03
To be a great netball team is one thing but to really want to win and build for each other is another thing.
02:08
Just building on what you'll do next season, I've noticed so many new recruits already.
02:14
It's really important to me, given where the club's come from and they haven't really had that success at the senior level,
02:19
that this is not just a one-hit-wonder thing.
02:21
Obviously we've had two grand finals in a row which is great and now we've won one.
02:24
The key is now to keep that momentum going and keep that success going and really try and spread it across the grades.
02:31
My goal next year is to have four senior teams in finals and two playing in grand finals.
02:35
I'm already setting those goals, I've been thinking about it this week.
02:37
I've already started doing some of the hard yards with recruits but that's just what you've got to do to stay at the top.
02:43
Well I can't wait to see it, congratulations.
02:45
Thank you, thank you so much.
