A recent survey suggests over half of people have lost trust in the police. Does this surprise Birmingham locals, and what do they think should be done to improve the police’s image and rebuild trust in our communities?

00:10to forge more links with community groups in general.

00:15There was an incident where we live a couple of years ago and a local caretaker rang the

00:25police and they said, oh, it'll be next week before somebody can come to you.

00:31Excuse me. Next week? They take the biggest chunk of our council tax.

00:38I think the police are now overworked. There's not enough of them. And they tend to treat

00:44the members of the general public pretty shabbily. But those that are there work very, very hard.

00:51I understand that. But there's just not enough of them. And the way to get the public back

00:56is to put more police on the streets.
