00:00You've picked a new chapter, a new start, and then how disappointing is it to start?
00:04Obviously it was all like that.
00:06Yeah, it's disappointing, isn't it?
00:08It's the manner of it, really.
00:10The manner of it disappoints me more than anything because we've gifted them the game.
00:15You know, it's hard enough to score goals and make one mistake, fair enough, but three.
00:21In the opening day of the season with the optimism in everybody and got off to a good start, I have to say.
00:27I thought the supporters were terrific towards the start.
00:30It was great to see the crowd fill that end and the improvements that the club's made on the stadium get off to a wonderful start, don't we?
00:41And then we basically shot ourselves in the foot, which was great.
00:45Is it hard that, obviously problems from last season being repeated, but it's new personnel.
00:49Well, problems have carried over the new personnel.
00:51Yeah, unfortunately.
00:54Look, as a team, I didn't think we defended well enough last year as a team defensively.
00:59Today, though, we've defended well, if that makes sense, apart from three mistakes.
01:05Now, one thing you can't eradicate is mistakes, and good players don't make them.
01:11That's why they've become good players, especially defenders.
01:14It's all about concentration and not making their mistakes, you know?
01:18And, unfortunately, today, we've conceded the three of them.
01:24But for all of us, you didn't make mistakes. We're learning from it now.
01:26Don't, even in that situation again, don't repeat it.
01:28Yeah, they'll be all disappointed, of course they'll be.
01:30Of course they'll be absolutely disappointed to help.
01:33Look, we've got another game next week, and then we'll go from there.
01:38Obviously, Stevenage was very physical. There were some tactical pals in there.
01:41What did you make of that approach, and how are you done with it?
01:43We knew what they were going to be.
01:46They're good at set pieces, and they're very, very decent.
01:49Difficult to play against. Fair play to them.
01:51Do what they're good at.
01:53Got the utmost respect for the manager and what he's achieved at Stevenage.
01:57They're difficult to play against, but we've made it easy for them today, which is my big frustration.
02:02Is it about, there's a few teams like Stevenage in the league.
02:04Is it about being better prepared for those teams going forward?
02:07Sorry, I missed that.
02:09There's a few teams like Stevenage in the league.
02:10Yeah, like Stevenage, of course there is.
02:11There's teams that played last week at Dongaster.
02:13We've seen a different, that's the beauty of the division.
02:16Different styles, different ways of playing.
02:19Division one has it all.
02:21So we've got to identify what we are, and we've approached that and done that.
02:26We've been a bit fortunate at the start with, but we haven't had more white players
02:30because the club and myself really are aligned to white players and how we play.
02:36And we've got two walking through the door.
02:39So with the ones coming back next week and blocks with CJ, all of a sudden we're a different animal.
02:44But it doesn't matter if we keep making mistakes like what we've just bloody made today.
02:49So is there a prospect you could have four wingers to choose from at Exeter if everything goes to plan?
02:54Yeah.
02:55And that must be so nice for you to sort of have that.
02:57Of course, of course.
02:58But you know, we've worked tirelessly all summer, you know, and I think we've recruited well.
03:02Okay, we're all disappointed.
03:04We've recruited well.
03:06We've still got a bit to do.
03:08We've still got a bit to do, but we're trying hard.
03:10We're ears and we're trying hard.
03:28Jack.
03:29Trying in.
