In this video: If you want your spiritual sense of hearing to be active, check out “Ears to Hear” to learn how your spiritual senses help you “see,” navigate, and discern spiritual things. For more equipping content, subscribe to https://matrixofjustice.org/

Think about it for a moment…

Have you heard the verse Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! (Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!) and thought to yourself, “It is not like I can taste or see God?!” Psalm 34:8
Or 2 Corinthians 2:15 For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, and think…these are just idiomatic expressions! It’s beautiful poetry from the Ancient Near East but meaningless to my walk with the Lord?

I am happy to tell you, there’s so much more, and it is very meaningful to your growth in the Lord and for ministry as well!

Just as we have our 5 physical senses to help us discern the world around us, we also have at least 5 spiritual senses to help us navigate and discern spiritual things and the spiritual realm around us.
Spiritual senses?

Discerning spiritual things, you might ask?
Yes. You can discern spiritual things. AND you can hear the spiritual world around you.

00:00Welcome to Marvel and Mysteries. My name is Tracy, and I'm so excited about today's video,
00:14which is called Whoever Has Ears, which you do. So let's go. This is part three in a series on
00:22the spiritual senses. So you might want to back up and check those out. The first one is see-through
00:27scent. Number two is taste and see. And here's number three, whoever has ears. And this is all
00:33about the spiritual senses. We have five senses in the natural to navigate the world around us
00:41and discern things. But God also gave us at least five, probably more, it's probably limitless,
00:47senses in the spirit. So we have our spiritual senses to do the same thing, to navigate the
00:53world around us, and to just discern what is going on. So 1 Corinthians 2.14 says that he who does not
01:04have the spirit of God is unable to discern the things that are coming from God. He doesn't have
01:10his spirit, so he can't discern it. We don't have the capacity. Natural man does not have the capacity.
01:16But those who do have the spirit of God, we know to value the things of God. We don't look at it as
01:22foolishness, because we have the spirit. And that's the only way to discern by that is by the spirit.
01:30So for years, I was oblivious to the world that's around me in terms of spiritual things.
01:37I was very much focused on, you know, what I could see and that sort of thing. And to get my attention,
01:44it would take something crazy, like something floating across the room, which actually did happen.
01:49But it would take something like that to kind of shake me out of that Greek thinking, Greek mindset,
01:54logic, and all of that. And I had a little bit of that dreamer in me that would say,
01:59oh, it's more, there's got to be more. And I would be drawn to some of those shows back in the day,
02:04like the paranormal stuff. So I knew there was more, but I never saw it demonstrated anywhere else. And so
02:10I didn't really know what to think of it. But when I got transferred out of the dominion of darkness
02:16into the kingdom of Jesus Christ, that is when everything opened up. That is when things started
02:23to make sense. And even though I had questions, and even though I was going to have to go through
02:28studying and learning and praying and understanding and all of that, everything started to really make
02:35sense. And the spiritual realm came alive all around me. And then I really started to understand
02:42what was happening. And God trained me up in my spiritual senses as I went along the way,
02:49probably because I was such a Greek thinking person. So he helped to deal with all of that.
02:56And I'm hoping to bring this to you so that it helps you to understand because this is all about
03:03growing up into maturity in the way that God made you. We are made in His image and likeness.
03:10And so we need to be able to function like Him. So this is part of that is being able to function.
03:17You're a three-part being, body, soul, spirit, being able to function in the realms and the
03:22dimensions that you need to be able to function. And all of this is key to Hebrews 5.14, which says,
03:31solid food is for the mature. By reason of use, you know, practice, that they have learned how to
03:39discern between good and evil. So this is what this is part of, is being able to distinguish
03:46when situations are happening for your own life and then also for helping other people,
03:51what is really functioning around in the spirit realm. This helps you to know and to see what the
03:57Father is doing. So I want to take you first to this idea of, it's going to sound like we're going
04:03into taste, but it really isn't taste. This all comes back to hearing. And the first one is Matthew
04:084.4, which says, it was Jesus talking. He said,
04:12It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
04:19We've all heard this, we all know this, but we have a tendency to go like, oh, and we just kind of
04:24go on past it. But Jesus is hearkening back to Deuteronomy 8.3. And this is when God has brought
04:32the Israelites out to the wilderness and Moses has brought them to that mountain and God is going
04:39to speak to them. So this whole time, he's already told Moses, I am that I am. And Moses goes and he
04:46gets the people out of captivity, but everything has been in obedience to the Lord's voice. And then when
04:53they're out there in the wilderness, they need to be eating. So the Lord provides them manna. Remember
04:59how he provided manna? And they were like, what is this? Like literally, if you look in a concordance,
05:04it says that manna is like whatness. Like what is it? Whatness? Its quality is whatness. So anyway,
05:13he's giving them this bread that yes, it's tangible and they're able to eat it, but it is also
05:20spiritual. And so he's making this connection between the obedience of what he is saying to
05:27them. And so a manner of speaking, you can think of it like this, you eat with your ears. In the
05:34kingdom, you eat with your ears. Because he was giving them his word and his instruction. He gives
05:41them the manna as well. So he's hitting it on both the physical and the spiritual levels at the same time
05:49about that. So when Jesus is saying, you know, it's written, man shall not live by bread alone,
05:55you know, bread, bread, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God and not for nothing,
06:01Jesus also said, hey, I am the bread of life. I am the bread that came down from heaven. So we have both
06:09the bread that is eaten and the spiritual bread and, you know, that wonderful shadow of Jesus coming
06:15down as the bread of life. So there's that very strong connection between hearing obedience in the
06:22Lord. And I'm just thinking of another instance just kind of popped into my mind is when Jesus is
06:29with the woman at the well and he's talking with her. And after she is sent on her way and she's
06:36proclaiming, come see this man. He told me everything about my life. When the disciples come back,
06:43they're like, who are you talking to? And then they're asking, like, are you hungry? Because they
06:47went to go find food. And he's like, I have food you don't know anything about. And his food, he said,
06:53was to do the will of the Father. So all of this connection between obedience and eating and hearing
07:01and it all kind of flows together. So let's go to Romans 10, 17. So faith comes by hearing and hearing
07:09by the word of Christ. We hear this one a lot too. And we're like, yes, amen. And then we blow right by
07:16it. We quote it to people and we don't think much of it. But what he's really saying in that is when you
07:21receive the divine instruction from God, you can hear. And that is what brings faith. Just as you know,
07:31there is a difference between listening and hearing. So it's like, okay, you can listen,
07:38but did you hear me? Because if you heard the divine instruction from God, then that's where
07:44the faith comes, right? And when Jesus spoke to the crowd about John the Baptist being the Elijah who
07:51would come, which he's like, if you can receive it, if you can accept it, John the Baptist is the
07:58Elijah who was to come. When he says, he finishes that up by telling them, it's Matthew 11, 15,
08:06whoever has ears, let him hear. In other words, if you have the faculty of perceiving with the mind and
08:16understanding, consider what I said. That is the whole point of this is to hear the Lord's voice,
08:24consider what he's saying and to go do it. So I want to encourage you as long as it's today,
08:31if you hear his voice, do not harden your heart against him. The pure in heart will see God. So
08:38be pure in heart, see God, see God. And one thing that I always come back to, and I think this is
08:44important, write this down is John 16, 13. I'm going to refer to my notes because I cannot seem to get it
08:49all today. It's written about Holy Spirit. He says, when the spirit of truth comes, he will guide
08:56you into all truth for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears, he will speak
09:02and he will declare to you the things that are to come. And Holy Spirit is within us. This is how we
09:08need to function for him, through him, with him. We are ambassadors and representatives of Jesus here on
09:14the earth. So number one, guides you into truth. Holy Spirit guides us into truth and we can guide
09:19others into truth. Number two, he speaks what God says. And it even says in the scripture, he's not
09:25speaking on his own authority, but he's speaking what he hears because he's receiving that from the
09:30Father. And three, he declares what is to come. So this is our operating schematic here, since we
09:37basically have like an air hose to heaven while we're down here on this truck stop called earth. And yes,
09:43the earth is beautiful and all of that, but man's just made everything a giant mess, right? So we're
09:48kind of like on a truck stop called earth and we have our air hose that's connected to love to the
09:54Lord. John 635, Jesus declared, and this is something, just really hear this because this is also key
10:01for your walk with the Lord. He said, I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry
10:09and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. I'm going to read the whole thing again from John
10:16635. Jesus declared, I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry. Whoever
10:23believes in me will never be thirsty. That is a picture of satisfaction. That is a picture of being
10:32complete and full in him. You're not hungry. You're not thirsty. This is not to say that you won't want
10:38the more of God and more wisdom and understanding and all of that. That's not saying that at all,
10:44but this is that place of satisfaction that only he can give you. There is nothing in this world
10:50that can compare or make up for it. And you will know this. If you do not know the Lord yet,
10:56once you say yes, and you come out of that dominion of darkness and you are transferred into the kingdom
11:04of Jesus Christ, it is unmistakable. It is unmistakable. You will look through your whole life
11:10and go, oh my goodness, all of these things that are here, drugs, booze, sex, addictions, pornography,
11:18everything, you will realize as an absolute counterfeit to the reality of who God really is. Not in those
11:26horrific sinful forms. I'm not saying that, but you will realize that when you receive Holy Spirit and when
11:32Holy Spirit is moving and working in you and through you, there is a euphoria to that and it's holy.
11:39There is an ecstasis that comes from the Lord that is actually akin to God's anesthesia.
11:47And while he puts you under that anesthesia, he does the surgery inside of you and you're not feeling
11:55any pain. You are feeling glorious and wonderful and beautiful. And sometimes people get to stay in
12:01that for like two, three hours. The point is, when you get off the floor, your surgery is done and you don't
12:11have the pain and you don't have the issues that you had beforehand. You understand the presence of God,
12:17you experience the presence of God, and you realize why all of these things in this world were created
12:24because it's a manufactured counterfeit of what experiencing and having experiential knowledge
12:30of God to really know to yada, the Lord truly. Oh my goodness, I'm so excited. So just say no to
12:38counterfeits. And if you come out of that dominion of darkness into the kingdom of his wonderful son,
12:43all this will open up for you. Everything is different. Everything is different. You see everything
12:49different. You smell everything different. Everything tastes different. All of your senses
12:53end up getting so engaged and it's so beautiful and it's so wonderful. Go on about that forever.
12:58Oh goodness. So, okay, let me calm down and let me think. Okay, so we need to go into some examples of
13:05this. So just so you can kind of sink your teeth into it. Examples of how that spiritual sense of
13:11hearing, how that operates. And so I've got a few that are from scripture and then some that are just
13:16experiences that I had just to give you an idea. And by all means, if any of you have experienced
13:21this, put it in the comments so we can all learn. Like that's the thing. We're all learning together.
13:25That's what it's all about is we're all sharing our experience in the Lord and it is helpful for
13:31all of us so that we can continue to learn and see other ways that we can experience him too,
13:35because it's all, oh, it's so wonderful. It's so good. But anyway, think of when Jesus encountered
13:43Saul on the road to Damascus. When you read through that awesome historical story, a light shone down
13:50on Saul. Now it doesn't really say if it was just Saul, but it kind of gives the impression that it
13:55was just Saul that this light shines on. And Jesus is like, why are you persecuting me? So Saul is having
14:03a conversation with Jesus and he even calls him Lord and everything else. The thing is, Saul's men,
14:10they were present. They heard the voice, but they didn't see anything. So imagine how freaked out
14:17they must have been. And when you go through the Bible, there are so many instances where one person
14:23experienced something this way, and then the others was a completely different way. And I'm also thinking
14:29of Moses going back to when he brings the children of Israel to the mountain. He has that one-on-one
14:37relationship with the Lord. So he has, he has the Lord. So he can discern the Lord's voice. He's like,
14:43yeah, we're talking to God. Whereas all the people, they experienced the voice of God as thunder.
14:50They were terrified. They saw a lightning. They heard the thunder and they're like, oh no, Moses,
14:55you go talk to him and then come and tell us what he said. But they had an opportunity to actually
15:02know God. And Moses from his relationship, that's the thing. It goes back to the verse from Corinthians
15:09about those that have the spirit of the Lord can discern the things that he is doing, can discern
15:15the things from the spirit of God. And you don't think it's foolishness because you know, you know
15:20it's the Lord, right? And so that's a couple of ways in the scripture that can operate. And then one,
15:26the first one that I had that I remember, and if any of you saw See Through Scent, this is going to
15:31be a little bit redundant because it kind of operated with hearing in the spirit and then also
15:37smelling in the spirit. But I was part of a deliverance team and we were praying for a man
15:44and a woman. The man had a very thick accent, but I didn't know what it was. And I was part of the team
15:49that was kind of praying for him. And as we're praying, I was just praying quietly to myself.
15:55And I kept hearing this word over and over again. It was like, Soteria, Soteria, Soteria. And I'm like,
16:01because I don't know what this word means. I had no clue. And so when it was kind of my turn to share,
16:08I said, sir, I don't really know what this means, but I keep hearing this word. I keep hearing it over
16:14and over and over. Now I'm not hearing this audibly externally out here. It's like I'm hearing it from
16:19the inside, but like a voice from the inside. And so I said, I hear Soteria being spoken to you.
16:26And he started to cry. And here, that word of knowledge that I heard with my spiritual sense
16:33of hearing that God gave me, that word of knowledge was a key to unlock a traumatic incident in his life.
16:42And he was violently assaulted when he was a teenager. And any time he closed his eyes to pray,
16:50because he just wanted to go into his secret place with the Lord and pray and be at peace.
16:55And every time he did that, he had a flashback of that traumatic experience. And so he never had peace.
17:02And he would try to pray with his eyes open, but he just didn't feel like he could connect. For him,
17:07this was very important. And through that process of getting this word of knowledge and just saying
17:13Soteria, it means salvation. It means deliverance, but it's a Greek word. And here the guy is Greek.
17:21And so someone who follows the Lord, that word Soteria points to the direction of Jesus. Now there's a
17:27different application of that in Greek and in different religions that they're into. But for someone
17:34who loves the Lord, Soteria is going to have a connection to Jesus with that. So it was just
17:41so powerful how that moment it set him free so he could pray again. Some of you actually probably
17:48have experienced hearing in the Spirit, but you don't even realize it. If you've ever been with a
17:54group of people and you hear something and you go, oh my gosh, did you guys hear that? And everybody's
18:00like, hear what? And you're like, no, come on. You didn't hear that. You didn't hear like that loud
18:05voice say, bah, bah, bah. And they're all like, no, I didn't hear it. But there might be circumstances
18:10where you've been in a situation like that and you and someone else heard it. The thing is, you're
18:16probably hearing in the Spirit. And you're not crazy, okay? Let's just start right there. You
18:22are not crazy. You are hearing things. But that's the thing. It's an external thing that's coming to
18:30you. Your brain isn't manufacturing these things and stuff like that. So just know that. This is
18:37you're hearing in the Spirit and it's going to happen in different ways. And sometimes you're going
18:42to hear different things. You might hear what sounds like energy transfers or snap, crackles, pops,
18:47lightning, roaring, like lions roaring. You can hear when the lion of the tribe of Judah is at work,
18:54sometimes you'll hear the roar. But if there's a demonic lion situation, you'll also hear that
19:00growling, that kind of stuff. I can remember one time coming out of a sleep and having something that
19:08was right next to my head snarling away like it was going to bite my head off. And it was still going.
19:14I came out of sleep. I was awake. Of course, you know, I was the only one that heard that. Nobody
19:20else did because that would be scary. But it was so, so, so, so loud. But you are going to be able
19:25to discern the stuff that's going on so that you can pray. And there was a deliverance meeting I'm
19:32thinking about years ago. This was really cool. This really helped to kind of establish some faith
19:38within me because when you see the Lord moving and working, you're like, oh my gosh, you're like,
19:41it works. Because when you're new, you don't know. And so when you're praying and you see the fruit of
19:48that and something works, it's like, yes, it works. But this woman, every time a demon got cast out of
19:56her, the Lord gave this amazing kind of sign, like a confirmation, because you could hear a door slam.
20:04So we would be casting stuff out. And then wham, you would hear it slam. And it was me and another
20:11who actually heard it. But nobody else did. It was so wild. But it was also quite wonderful.
20:19So I would just encourage you to literally and figuratively, so to speak, keep your ears open,
20:26because there's so much that the Lord can show you through your hearing. And so if you do hear some
20:33strange things, just make note of it, and then pray and ask the Lord about it. So all of this really
20:39is to remind you that you're made in God's image and likeness, and you can function like Him. You're
20:46a three-part being. So you have everything that's in touch with the world around you, and especially
20:52the unseen. You can see, you can experience the world that is around you because of how God has made you.
21:02So I'm praying that this helped you, that you're understanding about the spiritual senses,
21:08and that if you haven't seen See Through Scent and Taste and See, that you'll go check those out so
21:14that you can just come into alignment with what God has already done inside of you, just so you have
21:20the awareness. Because a lot of times we just aren't aware. And because we aren't aware, we might not pay
21:26attention to something when God has been trying to speak to us the entire time. So this is to help
21:32you with that. So thank you so much for watching. Lord, I bless my brothers and sisters. I thank you
21:38for their attention. I thank you for their ears today. I thank you that you're going to help us
21:43discern good from evil, that you are going to train our ears, just like you said that you awaken us
21:50morning by morning, and like one who is taught to hear as a disciple who can speak a word to him who
21:57is weary in its proper season. So Lord, that's a whole point. We thank you so much in Jesus' name,
22:03and thank you so much for watching.
