00:00Hello again. As we go through the rest of Thursday and overnight into Friday, it's a case of chasing the cloud.
00:06Where it clears tonight, it's going to turn a little chilly for some, and where it clears tomorrow, we'll have some warm sunshine.
00:11That's because things are pretty settled. We do have high pressure dominating our weather.
00:16This same high has led to a northerly flow, bringing a cooler feel to some eastern parts.
00:21But it's going to continue to build, in fact, as we go through the end of the week and into the bank holiday weekend.
00:26And so that's why our weather is going to stay so largely fine and dry.
00:31But looking at the detail, and as we go through Thursday evening and overnight, and like I said, there will be some breaks in the cloud, perhaps across some parts of East Anglia, maybe Kent.
00:40And also down the western side of Scotland, parts of Wales, southwest England.
00:43This is where we're most likely to see the breaks in the cloud and those clear skies.
00:48It's also here that we're going to get the lowest temperatures, whilst towns and cities generally are going to hold up in double figures.
00:53These rural spots, where the sky is clear, could fall to as low as two, maybe three degrees Celsius.
00:59Obviously, where the cloud lingers elsewhere, it's going to be milder.
01:02And also across Northern Ireland, there's some thicker cloud pushing in, perhaps even a few outbreaks of rain.
01:07So that's going to keep things milder as well.
01:10Under the clear skies, we could also see a few pockets of mist and fog developing.
01:13But these are going to be short-lived.
01:15We'll quickly burn away once the sun comes up tomorrow morning.
01:17And then through the day tomorrow, well, it's looking dry for most of us.
01:21And whilst there will be quite a bit of cloud around, there will be some bright, sunny breaks developing.
01:25Most of us should see some sunshine at times, actually across parts of Scotland, away from the southeastern corner, really.
01:32It's actually looking largely sunny by the time that we get to the afternoon.
01:35And then, yes, a few brighter breaks for most other places.
01:38Not everywhere.
01:39Northern Ireland's likely to stay quite cloudy.
01:41And some parts of northeast England also staying pretty cloudy.
01:44There could be a few spots of rain here and there, but nothing particularly heavy.
01:48And most of us will avoid these and stay dry.
01:51Temperatures where we get those sunny breaks are going to get, well, similarly high to today.
01:55Perhaps a little bit higher than on Thursday.
01:57We're looking at highs of around 23, maybe 24 Celsius.
02:01Down that eastern side of the UK where it's felt pretty fresh, a bit cool recently, that northerly wind's starting to ease.
02:07So temperatures ever so slightly creeping up, albeit if you're stuck under the cloud, it's not going to feel especially warm.
02:12Then later on, as we go through Friday evening and overnight, the cloud breaks up a little bit more in some places.
02:18But actually, we're likely to see the cloud developing again overnight across much of England and Wales.
02:23Not everywhere.
02:24There will be some clearer breaks.
02:26But because of this, with the cloud a bit more widespread, especially across parts of Wales, southwest England,
02:31then through this coming night, temperatures will be ever so slightly higher here.
02:35So a milder night for many, but across parts of the northeast and across some parts of Scotland, it will probably be a slightly chillier night.
02:43So like I said at the start, it's really a case of chasing the cloud.
02:46It makes all the difference on a setup like this.
02:49Then Saturday, well, it's looking like a largely fine start to the bank holiday weekend.
02:54And to be honest, the whole weekend looks largely fine.
02:56Watch out.
02:57There could be a few shower bursts.
02:58There could be some pushing across England and Wales overnight.
03:00And there could be a few more as we go through into Saturday.
03:04But again, most of us will avoid these.
03:06They don't look particularly heavy.
03:08Some pushing into Northern Ireland maybe, but a generally dry picture.
03:12Yes, there will be quite a bit of cloud at times, but also some brighter breaks.
03:16Best of the sunshine may be towards eastern coastal parts and across coastal parts of Scotland as well.
03:21But even elsewhere, there should be some decent weather on offer.
03:24And temperatures are rising as we go through the weekend.
03:27But really, we're looking at highs just about in the low 20s, really, for quite a few places on Saturday.
03:32Then, as I mentioned, the fine weather continues as we go through the rest of the bank holiday weekend.
03:38High pressure sticking around for a little while yet.
03:41So whilst there could be a few more shower bursts at times as we go through Sunday and bank holiday Monday,
03:46at least it's a bank holiday for much of the UK,
03:48it is likely that most of us will avoid these and stay fine and dry with temperatures picking up,
03:54so starting to feel a bit warmer.
03:55There is an area of low pressure and associated frontal system coming in from the west.
04:00That does mean things are set to turn a bit more changeable,
04:03perhaps even unsettled as we go through the middle of next week.
04:05But why don't you subscribe to our YouTube channel so you can stay up to date about that.
04:10I'll see you again soon.
