01:18Who will be out?
01:19I'm in, they're out
01:21I don't think so
01:23For these 12 designers
01:25Project Runway is the chance of a lifetime
01:29Last night Kellyanne went home
01:37and I'm feeling really low
01:39I've got a thing
01:42I've got a thing
01:47Oh gosh
01:48Yopi!
01:50I've got a ladder
01:52What?
01:54Designers, you have 20 minutes to get ready
01:57And get downstairs, your cars are waiting
01:59Oh
02:0020 minutes?
02:0120 minutes!
02:02Cross my fingers
02:03That it's not a group challenge
02:04Oh my god
02:05Great, great
02:09Ah, another challenge
02:16Oh, where the bloody hell are we going?
02:18Oh my god
02:19We're gonna rather run
02:20I don't know Melbourne
02:21I'm lost
02:28Oh, how exciting
02:29Woohoo!
02:30Hello!
02:31Hello!
02:32Christy and Henry were waiting
02:34and Christy looked stunning
02:37Hello designers
02:38Hi!
02:39Welcome to Flemington Racecourse
02:42Australia's most prestigious horse racing venue
02:44And home to one of the world's most famous sporting events
02:47The Melbourne Cup
02:49Without doubt
02:50The Spring Racing Carnival
02:51Has become one of the most anticipated events
02:54On the Melbourne social calendar
02:56In fact
02:57The Spring Racing Carnival
02:58Plays host
02:59For the country's most famous best dressed competition
03:04Fashions on the Field
03:07Where the creations of some of Australia's top designers
03:10Battle it out for the top prize
03:12I have no idea what Spring Fashion is
03:16I have never even been to the races
03:19Designers, your challenge is to create an outfit
03:22That is perfect for Spring Racing Carnival
03:25And worthy of taking the top prize in Fashions on the Field
03:29Your outfit must consist of a minimum of three pieces
03:32One of which is a headpiece
03:34I have never made a hat
03:36Nor designed a headpiece
03:37Feathers belong on chickens and peacocks
03:40Now for this challenge
03:42You'll have just ten hours
03:44To create your entire outfit
03:46Oh my god
03:47I was like, oh my god
03:48No way
03:49Are you kidding me?
03:50Three pieces?
03:51And a hat
03:52So, to help you get across the finish line
03:57We've enlisted the services of some people
04:00I think you might recognise
04:02It's going to be exciting to sing Ivana again
04:17Designers, please welcome back
04:19Jason, Ivana, Claudia, Ryan, Amber and Kellyanne
04:24It was so great, it was just like this big family reunion
04:31Hi!
04:34Hi Kellyanne
04:35Not here for revenge
04:37Although that would be sweet
04:39These six returning designers will help you create your outfits
04:44And if you're worried about just how committed they are
04:47Don't be
04:48Because the returning designer who has helped with the winning look
04:52Will be back in the competition
04:54The rest will be going home
04:59Along with one of you
05:01To determine which returning designer you'll be paired up with
05:07You'll each select a number between one and six on the betting board
05:11Oh my god
05:15William
05:16Because you won the last challenge, you'll get first pick
05:23Good luck, mate
05:24Good luck
05:25Five
05:27Claudia
05:29Yopi
05:30You get next pick
05:31Number four
05:32Jason
05:34Yay!
05:35I'll go number one, please
05:38Ryan
05:39Hey!
05:43Lauren
05:44Number six
05:46Lauren, you have Amber
05:49So I've got you two, fabulous
05:51I really want Ivana, she's one of my best friends
05:54I've been a good boy this year
05:57Mark
05:58Number two, please
05:59I thought
06:00Gosh
06:01Woohoo!
06:02What's going to happen now?
06:03You're now going to have 20 minutes to consult with your partner and sketch your ideas
06:16Oh my god
06:17Let's get to it!
06:20Let's just go here, man
06:21I've won Fashions on the Field four times, I'm definitely in my element right now
06:29This is going to be more kind of fluid and feminine opposed
06:31Straight away she wanted to take over
06:35Just by angling that 45 degrees, it changes the entire look of it
06:39But I don't want it to sort of evolve more into like a look that's particularly yours
06:44He's a fool for not taking advantage of the fact that I have so much experience in this area
06:50If we have this kind of detail in the skirt
06:53I'm feeling pretty good about my design
06:55It's going to be mine
06:57But I'll take a bit of Ryan as well
07:00Not much
07:02Time's up, pencils down please
07:04Come on
07:05Now it's time for you to go and choose your materials
07:09One person had to buy the fabric for the outfit
07:11And one person had to buy the stuff for the hats
07:15Obviously I was going to buy the fabric
07:17Because I wasn't letting Kellyanne loose at Rathdown
07:20Those designers that are going off to Rathdown Fabrics
07:22Please form a group over there
07:24Those designers that are coming with me to Gregory Ladner
07:27Follow me, let's go
07:28Good luck, Brad
07:29Good luck
07:30Good luck
07:35So it's Otto Rathdown Fabrics with $100 and 15 minutes to choose our fabrics
07:41I love this
07:42Guys, I think we've got like five minutes left
07:45Fuck
07:46Jason, I hope you can telepathically read my mind that there's no black organza
07:53Time is up
07:54To White House
07:55Thanks for having us
07:56Thank you, bye
07:58Alright designers, welcome to Gregory Ladner's studio
08:02There was fascinators and hats and feathers everywhere
08:05Hi designers, welcome
08:07And the man himself was there to meet us
08:09We're going to give you five minutes to purchase all your materials
08:14Are you ready?
08:15Yes
08:16Let's go
08:21I was like a kid in a candy store
08:25Back to the workroom, let's go
08:27At the end of the five minutes we headed on back to the White House
08:30So that we could meet up with our collaborators and find out exactly what materials they purchased
08:34As soon as I got back to the White House I pulled out all my fabrics
08:47Oh my god, it's so much brighter in here than Rathdown Remnants
08:50And my orange was so bright, so
08:53Yeah, I'd be unsure
08:55Ah, hey
08:57You're going with gold?
08:59I'm going with gold
09:00Perfect
09:01No, orange?
09:02No, I got orange but I'm a bit scared of the orange now
09:05Beautiful
09:06Beautiful
09:07Okay, yeah, sunny
09:08Beautiful
09:09Love, love, love
09:10Awesome
09:11We'll go with the orange
09:12We managed to pick out the best materials and the best accessories
09:16And managed to come to a colour scheme that is going to work for us
09:20It's going to look hot
09:21Let's get started
09:22I'm feeling slightly nervous
09:26I hope he got the stuff
09:28The right stuff
09:29That's it, I got these
09:31I thought that was quite fabulous
09:32I did say to him to make sure you get some white
09:35The only white thing he got was a rose
09:39Like, come on, could you be any more cliché?
09:42Shit
09:43It looks like a canary has just exploded
09:46Well, Ryan emptied what he selected from the milliners onto the table
09:51But just look at the crazy shape of some of these suckers
09:53I felt sick
09:55This looks like Big Bird
09:57The challenge for us at the moment is to come up with a design
10:01Well, Ryan is going on and on
10:03Incorporating this with that
10:06And on and on and on and on
10:09Is it possible to do, let's say
10:12There's lots of talk
10:13But they don't seem to be making any garments
10:17I'm stressed out of my eyeballs
10:19And I'm working with Grandpa
10:21I did strongly suggest on a number of occasions
10:25That he try something a bit different
10:28It's stunning
10:29But it is something that people have seen before
10:31But he was remarkably dismissive
10:34Some boys just have no idea
10:36I can already hear the fat lady sing
10:39Oh, these are pretty
10:41This is what I got
10:42The fact that they're paired together
10:44This is going to be interesting
10:46Is that going to come basically up again?
10:48Come up onto the bodice too, yeah
10:50Mark has a really defined idea of what he wants to do
10:53So right now I feel like a sewer
10:56In a very nice sweatshop
10:59Are these strips too wide for you, Mark?
11:01I think on a hat they need to be bigger
11:03I thought the best thing to do was
11:06To get Kellyanne started on the hat
11:08I'm just really faffing about really
11:10I just kind of take the time
11:12To just get a great shape
11:14And I thought if that's out of my hands
11:16I can concentrate on the dress and the jacket
11:18Put the panel lines
11:19Come up to pleats
11:20And soft pleat
11:22Oh, you're a classic
11:23Are you reading my mind or what?
11:25Claudia has hit the jackpot this week
11:28With getting William
11:29Until I had something ready to sew
11:31There was nothing really else for her to do
11:33Did you want the bottom of this zip?
11:35I think just leave it open
11:36Because it won't get on the stand
11:37William has definitely taken control
11:39And he's pretty much just told her
11:41That she'll be the seamstress
11:45Working with Ivana
11:46We're great friends
11:47But I also felt the pressure to get her back in
11:50So I was a little stressed
11:51Do you want me to sew this together?
11:53Yeah, that'd be
11:54Oh, okay, go, go, go
11:55Where you at?
11:56Where you at?
11:57Oh my gosh
11:58I think she thought we were making a belt
11:59Because the pattern was about this high
12:01This is the hip
12:02This is your waist
12:03This is the hip
12:04I'll just cut it and then I'll paste it
12:06Yeah, cut those
12:07Jason and I had to regroup on our design
12:11Because I couldn't get the fabric that we wanted
12:14Really, at the end of the day
12:15And he kept trying to draw this rah-rah skirt style dress
12:18And I kept saying to him
12:20We've only got half a metre
12:21You can't do that
12:22Yeah, but it stretches
12:24I don't think that she's receptive to really taking on my design aesthetic
12:30We concentrate on that and making that more of a flow
12:33He really liked the balloon style skirt
12:36So we're going with a balloon style skirt
12:39Yep
12:40That's looking beautiful
12:41Alright guys, let's go
12:42Next, on Project Runway Australia
12:46It looks confused
12:48And tortured
12:49I think I'm going home
12:51Holy shit
12:52I sewed through my finger
12:54Ouch
12:55Oh Jesus
12:56Why aren't you on the floor?
13:06Day two of the challenge
13:07I'm partnering with Amber
13:09And I'm pretty excited
13:10I think we're going to make a rocking outfit
13:16Back to the workroom
13:17It's a walk-off
13:32Oh, another day
13:35Woah, so much orange
13:37Walking back into the workroom
13:39We saw our outfit
13:40And it looks amazing
13:41I'm really happy with it
13:42Oh, this is amazing
13:44Oh my god
13:46Okay, it's morning
13:48And I'm a little bit on edge
13:50And Claudia started on the skirt
13:52And she just keeps asking a million questions
13:55Don't you want more draping there or no?
13:57No
13:58Don't want to give her a tummy
13:59Yeah
14:00I'm a little bit frustrated
14:01That I can't contribute more to the design
14:04But I just got to go with it
14:06And then maybe unpick all those sections
14:09Yeah, I will
14:10And we can cut circles in
14:11Yeah, I love the back
14:12And then
14:13Well, I'm delegating the task
14:14Of making the jacket and the hat
14:16To Ryan
14:17I love the idea of that being in a sleeve
14:20The jacket I'm working on at the moment
14:23Is quite the project in itself
14:26I'm really liking the way it's looking
14:28It's just a question of whether we can incorporate
14:30All the little things he wants
14:32Very nice, Ryan
14:33You have surprised me pleasantly
14:35I originally thought that Kellyanne would be doing a lot of sewing for me
14:40But she's a lot slower than I thought
14:43And she seems to be doing a lot of work on the hat
14:47Okay, do you like where that flower is, Doc?
14:51That's cute
14:52Yeah?
14:53Yeah, it's good
14:54I really do want him to win
14:55But also, personally and selfishly
14:57I do want a fantastic hat to be there
15:00I could see that Jason was starting to stress
15:05But I gave him the bodice to work on
15:09And he didn't manage that very well
15:13Is that okay?
15:14That curb needs to be going the other way
15:17Yeah
15:18Yeah
15:19I made a mistake when putting the boning on the bodice
15:22And we both had to unpick that before our model came for the fittings
15:29Hi there, designers
15:30Hi, Henry
15:31How are you all doing?
15:32Good
15:33Good news is, in a few moments
15:35I will be sending in your models
15:37You have literally six hours to the completion of this challenge
15:40So I better bring them in
15:41Are you guys ready?
15:42Yes
15:43Beautiful
15:44When the models came in, yeah
15:45The workroom went a bit crazy
15:48And everyone was, like, going straight into it
15:51So
15:52What is it?
15:53Bracewear
15:54Oh my god, that's gorgeous
15:55Thank God I sort of had bits cut together
15:58And I think she's going to look amazing
16:00How's my hat going to be?
16:01That's a very good question
16:03But
16:04I didn't know what we were doing with the hat
16:05But I just kind of grabbed the fabric and then twisted it
16:07And it made the shape instantly
16:09That's how fashion is, you pull it out of your ass
16:12Michael's dress
16:15It looks the same like his other dress except it's yellow
16:19He's got, like, one nail in the coffin, like
16:22So I don't understand why he's trying to be so safe
16:26Breathe in, it'll be the last breath
16:28Yeah, I mean, Michael's already made the poor girl four corsets
16:32Figuring out whether the fifth one fits isn't that much of a deal
16:36Looking at Will and Michael's dress colour, they've both chosen yellow
16:41Lucky for Will, he's chosen a gorgeous yellow and Michael's ended up with a lemon
16:47Just not sure about that fast
16:49So, do you want me to wear my bra?
16:51We are also a couple of hours behind
16:54There was no skirt
16:56Because we need to make sure we've got enough of the jacket and enough of this
16:59I just have to get going
17:01I think
17:02I think Lauren and I are at an advantage because we're getting along famously
17:06What do you think?
17:07I'm happy
17:08That's right
17:09Yeah
17:10I really want Amber to get back into the competition
17:12As she's really fun to have around and she does have a really good design sense
17:17Exactly, the look that we were hoping for
17:19Team glam
17:20Team glam
17:22Pulls it off
17:23I think the only teams that are working well together at this stage are both me and Lauren
17:27And Ivana and Anthony
17:29Like or there
17:30Yeah
17:31With the little
17:32Just down, I reckon just there
17:34Ivana and I working together is a dream collaboration
17:38Amazing
17:39I want to do covered buttons to make it a high fashion
17:42I love working with Anthony
17:43This is actually a wish come true
17:48Let's go
17:49I have my head down and my ass up and I'm sewing away and I'm sewing fast
17:56And um, surprise surprise
17:59Yuck
18:00She didn't even swear
18:01Holy fuck
18:03Claudia sews her finger
18:07Ouch
18:08Oh Jesus
18:09Michael's sitting next to her, having a heart attack, screaming
18:12Fucking hell
18:14And Claudia's sitting there, cool as a cucumber just going
18:17Oh, I sewed through my finger
18:19Just reef it out, I don't care
18:21Pull it out fast
18:24Why aren't you on the floor?
18:28What a bloody drama
18:30I can't afford to get off emergency for an hour or two
18:34The things I do to get out of sewing
18:36Unbelievable
18:43Hi Henry
18:44Hello guys, how you doing?
18:45When Henry walked into the workroom
18:47We were quite ready for him
18:49But I don't think he was ready for us
18:52I think he was quite shocked with our colour combination
18:55And we knew that he would either love it or hate it
18:59I love the contours
19:01I love the fabric
19:02I think this is very Victorian
19:04I am concerned about the gold lame skirt
19:07Yep
19:08You are making a really major statement
19:10And it's really going outside anything I've seen
19:13It's a risk
19:14Yeah
19:15There's still a tremendous amount of conservatism
19:17Definitely
19:18When it comes into spring race
19:19Alright
19:20That's what I'm saying
19:21Good luck
19:22Beautiful lines, beautiful stitch work
19:24Thanks a lot
19:25Thank you
19:26Thank you
19:27I definitely respect Henry and his critiques
19:30But I was really happy with the gold
19:32And I think it's going to really give a great flash on the catwalk
19:35So we're sticking with it
19:36Right, what do we have here?
19:38So we're actually going to do a tulip style on the front
19:41Yep
19:42And we're going to drape it and gather it and cover this with a silk chiffon as well
19:47And we're going to make a little cape out of that
19:49Right
19:50It'll actually be very short
19:52Are you working well as a team?
19:54Because it doesn't look like teamwork to me
19:56Okay
19:57It looks confused and tortured
20:00A little bit
20:01A little bit
20:02Okay
20:03A lot of bit
20:04I want to see more flourish
20:05I want to see less confusion
20:07Don't put the reins on your style
20:09Throw it down
20:10Onward
20:11Yes
20:12To the finish line
20:13Good luck
20:14Thank you
20:15Thank you very much
20:16Thank you
20:17It was tortured and confused
20:19It reflected what we were both feeling
20:22Hi William
20:23Hi Henry
20:24How's all you doing?
20:25She's up to the hospital so she should be okay
20:27Okay
20:28I can see the frog
20:29Phenomenal
20:30Can I see your headpiece?
20:31What are you thinking?
20:32It kind of happened in about three minutes putting it together
20:35So from this entire design
20:37Which part of it is Claudia's?
20:39There's probably not a lot
20:41Give me a percentage of Claudia
20:4210%
20:4310%
20:44This is what I think
20:45This is absolutely stunning
20:47It's a symphony of style
20:49I have never had in my time in the workroom so far
20:53To say to somebody
20:54I really can't pick at it
20:56I love the tuxedo top
20:58I love your headpiece
20:59What I don't love is 10% Claudia
21:0290% William
21:04They could really slam me for that
21:06Thank you
21:07Thank you
21:08Good luck
21:09Thank you
21:10We have very different tastes
21:11I just don't want her to stuff things up for me
21:14Hey
21:15How are you Michael?
21:16Good how are you doing?
21:17Excellent
21:18How are you doing Ryan?
21:19Always good
21:20Right
21:21Well I see the frock
21:22Who's leading this team?
21:23Me
21:24You're leading the team
21:25Yeah
21:26And are you loving what you're seeing from your work?
21:27Not yet
21:28And a lot more than what it is
21:30Please tell me
21:31What is the difference between this bodice and skirt
21:34Which we have
21:35Than the basic style that you did for the very first challenge
21:42The second challenge
21:45Except it's got a little bit of a bounce
21:47The Mitre 10 challenge
21:51And you know the butterfly challenge
21:55Which is basically your full skirt again
21:57Now what worries me is that the judges
22:00You're just going to see me doing the same thing
22:02Yeah
22:03I was like
22:04Finally
22:05Someone's noticed he's making another corset
22:09Thank you Henry
22:10Good luck guys
22:11Henry did point out something that I've consistently been telling Michael now
22:15From the second we started
22:17Good luck everybody
22:18Thank you
22:19Thanks Henry
22:20Thanks a lot
22:21And that is he's making the exact same type of dress
22:25Again
22:26And again
22:27And again
22:28And again
22:29I'm evolving
22:30I'm adapting
22:31I'm developing
22:33But at the moment this is my style
22:36There's nothing more flattering than an hourglass silhouette
22:39Take the centre back of it
22:41Tack it up
22:42So you've got short at the back
22:43That is something that you don't normally see
22:45No
22:46I don't like it
22:47Trouble is brewing
22:48Okay
22:49He doesn't want to listen to anyone
22:51Be it me or Henry
22:53It's younger
22:54It's fresher
22:55It's different
22:56It's race wear
22:57I just
22:58I don't like the idea of it
22:59At all
23:00It's not happening
23:01Okay
23:02Don't
23:03Sorry
23:04Well hey
23:05I am meant to be here to try and help and
23:07There's not much more I can do
23:09I'm afraid he's a little bit on his own
23:11I'll do whatever he tells me to but
23:14The direction it's going is not a pretty one
23:17I love it
23:18Ah
23:19Show me the venenova
23:20Surprise
23:21I've decided to have these flowers sort of peeking out of the bottom of our bustle
23:29I think it's going to be an amazing touch
23:31I may have over pressed one part but it's alright I'll fix that up
23:35Do you like how I did the extra petals and stuff?
23:39Yeah
23:40Kellyanne's still working on the hat
23:42So that seems to have been about 8 of the 10 hours
23:46Kellyanne said I want Mark to win but more importantly I want the hat to look good
23:50Look at least you know when I smile I mean it
23:53Or that you want something
23:55Or that you're about to attack and kill
23:57Mark she doesn't care about you just her hat
24:01Dude you've got to watch out for yourself
24:04I can't believe I said dude
24:07It's Will
24:08Will I'm back
24:09Oh my god how's your finger
24:11It's fine it's fine
24:12I'm so sorry I didn't stress you
24:14Did they pull it out?
24:15Or was it in there?
24:16It's not in there
24:17Oh I didn't think that it was
24:18Got it x-rayed it's not in there
24:20I've just come back from the hospital and I just want to get sewing
24:25We're both very very stressed we've got a lot to do
24:30Oh my god we have half an hour to go
24:32It's 5.30
24:34I don't know whether to laugh or cry
24:38Whichever one is the fastest
24:40Do you have much more to do Claudio?
24:45On the zip?
24:46Nah I'm nearly done
24:47He was running around like a headless chook and he was really stressed and this is probably the first time I've seen him that stressed
24:53Fuck where's my steam stress?
24:55Fuck where's my steam stress?
24:57Are you a dummy?
24:58No we're not done
24:59Time is up
25:00I feel mentally drained
25:02I think I'm going home
25:04So I'm gonna be packing
25:07Tonight
25:10Time's up
25:11I hate the jacket that Ryan's made
25:13I haven't finished my dress
25:15I have a shitload more work to do
25:19I really don't want to go
25:23Alright designers
25:24Your time is up
25:26So can you please put everything down
25:28I know it's been a marathon race
25:30You've made it
25:31Let's get out of here
25:32Thank you very much everyone
25:33Take care
25:34Good on you
25:35How's your thinking?
25:36I'm good
25:39Next on Project Runway Australia
25:41Packing the shit out of my head
25:43It's like a bad bridesmaid's dress
25:44Disastrous
25:46It's not really my work being judged
25:49Oh and the hat
25:50Ellianne has still finished the hat
25:57It's runway day
25:59Oh joy
26:01Wake up beautiful
26:03It's runway day
26:05I want Ivana to stay
26:08It's runway day and I'm definitely going to be working my ass off to get Ivana back
26:14So guys
26:15You ready to have me back today or?
26:17Yep
26:18Yep
26:19It's runway day today
26:21And I'm feeling a bit nervous because one of us is out
26:27Hurry up
26:28Oh my god
26:29Look at how that looks
26:30After sleeping on it I know that our design is definitely enough to win fashions on the field
26:35Let's hope it's enough to win in this competition
26:37Hats are supposed to look good from every angle
26:38So is it good from every angle?
26:39Yeah
26:40It is
26:41Super
26:42Hello my cherubs
26:43How are we this morning?
26:44You little angels of design ingenuity
26:45You have two more hours to go
26:47In which time you need to send your models to the Max Factor
26:50to win fashions on the field,
26:51let's hope it's enough to win in this competition.
26:54Hats are supposed to look good from every angle,
26:56so is it good from every angle?
26:57Yeah, it is.
27:01Hello, my cherubs, how are we this morning?
27:04You little angels of design ingenuity.
27:08You have two more hours to go,
27:11in which time you need to send your models
27:13to the Max Factor makeup area
27:15and also to the Prismé hair salon.
27:18Now, don't forget, we've got some amazing accessories
27:20from Gregory Ladner and stunning shoes from Andrea and Yohan,
27:25so make good use of them.
27:27Are you ready for your models?
27:28Let's send them in.
27:30Come in, please.
27:31Here we are.
27:32Good morning.
27:33Managed to get some orange shoes.
27:36Oh, I love it.
27:37Mixing up.
27:41Oh, my gosh, it's amazing.
27:44I'll just finish this off,
27:46and then we'll get them into the dress.
27:48I've got lots of hand sewing to do this morning,
27:51and Kellyanne has still to finish the hat.
27:56Oh, and the hat, too.
27:58I'm actually feeling really quite at ease about The Runway today,
28:03mainly because it's not really my work up there that's being judged.
28:08It's like a baby or a girl.
28:10No, actually, that's really good.
28:12It's a really nice shape there.
28:13Yeah, that's just that it fit.
28:14I just don't think she really gave a damn.
28:18Hacking the shit out of my hair.
28:21Disastrous.
28:23Ron, all I can say is that I hope Yopi and Jason's is the worst,
28:29because if it's not, this could be.
28:32That's pretty much my take on the day.
28:34It's Operation Z Michael.
28:35I don't see any point in doing anything
28:38but trying to make him look as good as humanly possible
28:41and give him a fighting chance of not leaving this competition.
28:45You need to come in.
28:46A little bit.
28:47I reckon two centimetres.
28:48Like, as in pencil?
28:49Yeah.
28:50Ivana admitted she wasn't comfortable
28:52in doing the skirt final touches,
28:54so I really need that skirt to look amazing on catwalk,
28:58otherwise Sarah Gale would eat me to pieces.
29:05I'm going to get it finished, get you into hair and makeup.
29:10What's that thing where you do it at the...
29:14French.
29:15French.
29:16I like the volume.
29:19Excellent.
29:20Thanks.
29:21Beautiful gold skirt.
29:25It looks great, really strong.
29:34Beautiful.
29:35Great.
29:36See if you like them.
29:37You know what, they're fine, I've really got to get this done.
29:41Hey, designers, a bit of your, uh, respectful attention, please.
29:44You now have literally ten minutes.
29:46Ten minutes and counting.
29:47Good luck.
29:48Thanks, Henry.
29:50You won't really be able to breathe, but you will look amazing.
29:53Michael's design, it's like a bad bridesmaid's dress.
29:57She should be serving taste-tested with her.
29:59I don't know.
30:00I don't know.
30:01I don't know.
30:02I don't know.
30:03I don't know.
30:04I don't know.
30:05I don't know.
30:06I don't know.
30:07I don't know.
30:08I don't know.
30:09She should be serving taste-testers at the Big Pineapple.
30:12It's not cool.
30:14I think I was as fabulous.
30:16Anthony took a chance that's out of this world, and he has pulled it off.
30:21It is absolutely awesome.
30:24William's outfit is amazing, as per usual.
30:28So cute.
30:29You want one?
30:33I was really concerned for yuppies.
30:35For me, it's way too short.
30:37Maybe in the Gold Coast, but not Melbourne.
30:39All right, designers.
30:40The race is done for this challenge.
30:43Everything down.
30:44Give yourselves a huge applause.
30:46It's been a mammoth race to the finish line.
30:49Are you guys ready for the runway?
30:51Yes!
30:52Do you have passion in your fashion?
30:54Yes!
30:55Let's go to the runway.
30:57Beautiful, Ivana.
30:58Thank you very much, boys and girls.
31:01Next, on Project Runway Australia.
31:02It just didn't come off.
31:03It does look cheap to me.
31:04It's just a mess.
31:05That is completely unacceptable.
31:06I think I'll get bogan.
31:07You know?
31:08Hello, designers.
31:09Thank you, Kristen.
31:10Welcome to the runway.
31:12As you know, in fashion, one day you're in, the next day you're out.
31:45And Kelly-Ann all made a surprise comeback in a bid to re-enter the competition and be back
31:51in the running to win Project Runway Australia.
31:55Past and present designers were paired up.
31:58And together, you had to create an outfit for one of Australia's premier sporting and
32:03social events, the Spring Racing Carnival.
32:09Your outfit had to be a minimum of three pieces, one of which was an eye-catching headpiece
32:15that would not only complement, but complete your overall look.
32:19Designers, I hope your partnership served you well, because today you'll be relying
32:27on each other to survive in this competition.
32:31To the six returning designers, only one of you will get back in.
32:35The co-designer from the winning team.
32:39The rest of you will be out.
32:41And the designer from the bottom team will be joining you.
32:47Now let's meet the judges.
32:51First up we have leading Australian designer, Jason Brunston.
32:54Hi designers.
32:55Hi Jason.
32:56Next, we have fashion buyer extraordinaire, Sarah Gale.
33:00Hi everyone.
33:01Hi Sarah.
33:03And our guest judge this week, one of Australia's most successful women's wear designers, Leona
33:09Edmonston.
33:10Hi designers.
33:11Hi Leona.
33:14They will decide if you have what it takes to make the cut.
33:19We will score your designs as they come down the runway.
33:22The designers with the highest score will be the winners.
33:26And the team with the lowest score will be out.
33:29Let the show begin.
33:31When I saw my designer on the runway I thought, sexy French maid.
33:41I thought that it was quite sophisticated and chic.
33:46When Sarah took the jacket off, I think the dress that I've made is really beautiful.
33:55It's definitely something that people could wear to the races, but it's not going to wow anyone.
34:06I'm really proud.
34:09I'm really proud.
34:10The dress looks fantastic.
34:12Our design is race wear to a tee.
34:26Swing that tush and get those ruffles happening.
34:29It looked brilliant.
34:30I was very happy.
34:33I thought it was definitely a contender, but I wasn't sure if it was going to be the winner.
34:45Seeing Yasmin on the runway, I thought it looked really girly and feminine, very, very happy.
34:54It does look great, but God, if it was my choice, it would be so different.
35:01I was so proud.
35:03I really thought it was very French chic, elegant and exactly what I wanted.
35:12When I saw our design, I thought it was an absolutely stunning winner.
35:23We've scored your designs, and we'd like to talk to all of you.
35:28Let's bring out your models.
35:44Let's start with Yopi and Jason.
35:47Jason, what do you think?
35:49Well, I think I've seen it.
35:50I've been to the races, I've seen it before.
35:52It's not going, wow.
35:54I would question the bubble.
35:56It's been around now for about six years.
35:58I'm just getting a little bored of seeing it.
36:00I just felt it could have used something else.
36:02It does need a bit more racing up.
36:05Yeah.
36:06Like, I really love the little capelet.
36:08I think it's so cute, and it's really feminine and lovely.
36:11Like, for me, it's the best part of the outfit.
36:14Sarah, what were your impressions of Michael and Ryan's outfit?
36:20The jacket, it just doesn't work.
36:24I don't think that the construction on it's there.
36:26I wasn't the one who constructed the jacket.
36:28I delegated the construction of the jacket to Ryan.
36:32You made the rest of it, except the jacket.
36:34Yes.
36:35Because on the bottom of your skirt, your lining is longer.
36:40And that is completely unacceptable.
36:42You can't do that.
36:44It really does look like two very different designers
36:49coming together and trying to mangle an outfit into shape.
36:53It's just a mess.
36:55Given that, this is how a lot of girls like to look.
36:59They do.
37:00At the races, isn't it?
37:01They do.
37:02Leona, did you like Lauren and Amber's outfits?
37:05I did.
37:06I think there's a lot to love about this outfit.
37:08The only thing I found is that, for me,
37:11the jacket and the dress didn't quite work together.
37:13I love the whole look.
37:14It's like a Parisian 40s fashion illustration
37:18with a very modern twist to it.
37:20Yes.
37:21I can really see that hat standing out in a crowd.
37:23And I think that at the races, that's what you need to do.
37:27I think it does look like a cracked record.
37:31Everything else looks so expensive in your outfit.
37:34The hat, it does look cheap to me.
37:37Jason, did Claudia and William's design hit the mark for you?
37:40Oh, I loved it.
37:41I really loved it.
37:42I thought it was very modern, very sculptural, structured.
37:46The amount of work that has gone into this
37:49and the time space you had is pretty amazing.
37:51How did you guys work together?
37:53Good until Claudia went to hospital.
37:55I lost her for two hours because she sewed through her fingers.
37:57So I had to do a lot of it by myself.
37:59I said, don't worry about it.
38:00Just go to the hospital and come back.
38:02And she came back and a lot of it was done.
38:05Mark and Kellyanne, how did you guys work together?
38:11Good, actually.
38:12Yeah, well.
38:13It was good. Surprising.
38:15Yeah, Mark, you didn't look like that was a yes from you.
38:19I thought it was a little bit difficult for her to get into the swing of it.
38:23Leona, what did you think of this outfit?
38:26Look, I think the detailing is really beautiful.
38:29I've always loved pink and navy together too.
38:31I think it's a lovely combination.
38:33I can see that it's probably not everybody's cup of tea.
38:37It's almost two different dresses.
38:39So there's a real surprise package in it.
38:41I love that back. I really do.
38:44The hat's gorgeously made though too, isn't it?
38:47That was Kellyanne's handy work.
38:49Beautiful.
38:50I think you just need to be careful of not being too sweet and sentimental.
38:54Sure.
38:55It can be like sticking your nose in a pot of potpourri.
39:01Jason, how did you like Anthony and Ivana's?
39:03Oh, I loved it. I think it's quite fantastic.
39:06I really like the way that you've pushed it.
39:09You've taken a lot of risks in here, both with the silhouette of the jacket,
39:13with the bustle and then with the gold lame.
39:15The only thing that is a bit disconcerting is like the orange under the bustle
39:19because to see it, you'd have to be bending over.
39:22I can't be right there though.
39:24It's a very ladylike, classical look from the front.
39:28She turns sideways and suddenly it's, wow, boom.
39:31My fair lady meets 80s disco.
39:33Yeah.
39:34We've heard what you've had to say.
39:38We're now going to have a chat.
39:40And I'll call you back.
39:44You can leave the runway.
39:46Okay guys, let's start with the ones that we liked.
39:59The standard was amazing.
40:01Yeah.
40:02It was, it was really great.
40:03Yeah.
40:04Really great.
40:05But I particularly liked Ivana and Anthony's.
40:08It had theatrics.
40:09It was very ladylike.
40:11It had the right mix of everything.
40:12It did.
40:13Didn't it?
40:14It had a modern edge to it.
40:15It was just elegant.
40:16And then suddenly it just went bam in your face.
40:18It was really exciting.
40:19It was exciting.
40:20And it was the shock of the unexpected of those elements they put together.
40:24The oatmeal and the gold, like who would have come up with that?
40:27I loved Williams too.
40:32William and Claudia's had a real refinement to it.
40:35I think the execution was, you know, you couldn't fault it.
40:39Such a feat of structure.
40:42Structure yet in a very flowy fabric.
40:45So I loved the way that they had done that.
40:47And so flattering as well.
40:48Like it would make any girl look gorgeous.
40:51That silhouettes wouldn't it?
40:52Absolutely.
40:53I also really liked Lauren and Amber's outfit.
40:57I loved it.
40:58It was very chic.
40:59Yeah.
41:00Something that I could wear that dress.
41:01The jacket didn't quite go with the shape of the dress.
41:04No.
41:05But the jacket was fantastic.
41:06And there were two different tones, weren't they?
41:08Yeah, there were.
41:09They didn't quite gel, but the dress I thought was stunning.
41:12I loved the hat.
41:13Yeah.
41:14A broken record.
41:15A broken record.
41:16Not in such a bad way.
41:17Bit of vinyl.
41:18Not in such a bad way.
41:19Smashed over your head.
41:20I mean, but don't you think it did look like that?
41:22It did because they made it shiny.
41:28Okay, let's talk about the ones we weren't that impressed with.
41:31What about Mark and Kellyanne's?
41:34The flowers.
41:35I know you didn't like the flowers.
41:37I just don't like fake flowers.
41:40I don't know why.
41:41It was quirky and it was interesting and it had an elegance to it,
41:45but the fake flowers added a kind of home dressmaker touch to it.
41:49The jacket.
41:50It was a bit heavy and a bit dowdy and I think it aged the dress unnecessarily.
41:55Yeah.
41:56Let's talk about Ryan and Michaels.
42:01Oh.
42:02She looked like one of those girls.
42:04You see at the races and you think, oh yeah, bogan.
42:06You know, she really did.
42:08She'd be carrying the shoes at the end of the day after she's had 85 glasses of champagne.
42:13You know, you've seen it a hundred times.
42:16The hair hanging down.
42:17I think the flower was beautiful, wasn't it?
42:20On the bodice.
42:21Yeah.
42:22It was really gorgeous.
42:23Look, we've seen this from Michael before.
42:25It's the same bodice with a dress.
42:28I mean, this is what he does.
42:29Yeah.
42:30We've seen it at the races for years.
42:31It's been around for years.
42:32Yeah, that's right.
42:33It looked old, tired and outdated.
42:34Yes, it did.
42:38And what about Yopi and Jason's?
42:40It was unadventurous, wasn't it?
42:42Yeah.
42:43The hat really let it down.
42:44I just saw some feathers sticking out of the hat.
42:46That's about all it was, I think.
42:47Yeah.
42:48To me, it didn't shout races.
42:49No.
42:50It was a bit French made.
42:51It was a bit French made.
42:52They probably had the right idea, but the execution of it, choosing the colours and the whole
42:58put together, it just didn't come off.
43:00No.
43:04So, we've made our decision?
43:06Yes.
43:07Oh, I think it's a photo finish.
43:10We're all happy.
43:11Yeah.
43:12Let's bring them back out then.
43:16Designers.
43:17One of you will be named the winner, and one of you will be out.
43:24To the six returning designers, only one of you will make it back in.
43:33To the six returning designers, this is your last chance to return to the competition.
43:39But only one of you will make it back in.
43:42To secure your spot, your team must be judged the winner of this challenge.
43:52The rest will be out.
43:56Designers, the stakes are also high for one of you.
44:00If your design is judged the weakest, you too will be out.
44:07And now, for the winner of this challenge.
44:10Congratulations to...
44:15Anthony and Ivana.
44:24You are the winners of this challenge.
